MCFC Eastlands Admission Price Cut Confirmed

Google language translator

City have dealt a massive blow to the hacks, rival fans and 'football personalities' out there who have been queuing up to accuse the club's owners of 'ruining' football

Vital MC ran a story last month responding to rumours and reports that the club's hierarchy had something planned:

Reports: MCFC To Reduce Season Tickets By 20%

Today the club have confirmed the details of the ticket pricing measures which we are sure will receive strong backing from senior football figures such as UEFA President Michel Platini.

www.mcfc.co.uk explained the details:

'Renewal dates for Manchester City Seasoncards for the 2009/10 season have been deferred by three months to help ease financial pressure on fans in the early part of the year.

Prices in all non-corporate areas of the City of Manchester Stadium have been frozen for the coming season (a VAT reduction of 2.5% will be applied to these tickets), and the majority of Seasoncard holders are due to benefit from discounts ranging from small to significant dependent on age and seat location.

Renewing adult Seasoncard holders are due to benefit from an average 7% reduction on last year`s prices, and further reductions will be applied to the youth market - 16 to 21 year olds who will receive an average 17% cut in their Seasoncards. This follows on from the success of the Club`s pioneering Live4City Under 16s Seasoncard which remains at a very competitive £95.

Fans have previously received their renewal packs in the first two months of the year, but Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak is keen to alleviate the burden of payment so soon after Christmas, saying:

"Our Seasoncard holders are the cornerstone of this Club and, since our arriving at the Club, we have listened to their feedback and their concerns on a great range of issues.

"By pushing back the date for Seasoncard renewals we hope to make some small difference to the supporters who follow the team every week. We have also sought to respond to fans' concerns on pricing and hope that the price freezes in some areas and discounts in most areas of the ground will be welcomed."

This is the first time that reductions to adult Seasoncard prices have ever been applied at Manchester City. Existing Seasoncard holders will have an exclusive booking period in which to reserve their current seat. After that date, seat relocation requests will be considered before any remaining seasonal places are made available to new customers.

The Club has also responded to fans' requests that the renewal process be made more simple. As a consequence of this, renewal packs, which will be mailed in early May, will contain a CD guide to assist in online applications. Supporters should ensure their personal details, including postal and email addresses, are up to date by visiting the My Account section of the ticketing site www.mcfc.co.uk/ticket ahead of the mailing date for renewal packs.

Telephone and in-person renewals will still be taken for those without internet access.'

This must be great news for our die hard supporters. Living on the other side of the world i am not sure how we (City) compare with other PL clubs when it comes to season ticket prices.

To give some idea of how competitive our prices are. My Concession season ticket is cheaper than my friend's Concession season ticket at Blackpool. I think that says it all.

Well....Platini, Robson, Lawrenson, Taylor (PFA), Wenger, Taggart, Whelan, Redknapp, Shearer, Hoehness and hacks like Michael Henderson, your reactions when you're ready, please.

Thank you ADUG!! They deserve praise for this gesture and should be used as a example for other football clubs.

I'm sure "Fleet Street's" finest are now staggering out of the bar's ready to lavish praise upon Sheikh Mansour.

The only place the "Sleeze Streets" finest will be staggering out of will be the Job Centre in a few years when they are all made obsolete by the internet.

I think this is the right message that The Chairman has sent out to the media and press hacks in particular. I am glad that the fans have been rewarded for their loyalty to the club.

Blimey..............even if it's just a PR stunt ( i am soo cynical) at least it means a lot of people will benefit. Bit of a first in the moneyed world of the premiership and it will indeed be Interesting to see how the media/Fleet sheet reacts.

Excellent work by the club and the owners!!
ArabianKnight
Hurrah! Not only have they lowered the prices (few more chicken balti pies for me - best hangover cure in the world, officially!), but they've also extended the deadline. As my job is largely seasonal I often struggle for funds in the first few months of the year, and often don't renew until June or later (at full price). This move is brilliant both from a fan's perspective and from a public relations position. Now let's get a charity shirt sponsor in and see how many of the hacks can carry on dissing us!
