Boj Is Back

Mark Hughes told mcfc.co.uk that Valeri Bojinov will feature in a practice match at Carrington on Tuesday, explaining:

'We arranged a behind-closed-doors game today, and we were looking for him to play a half or maybe even an hour. That will do him good, but he has been training at full tilt with the rest of the squad for a week now. He's looked good, but what he needs is games.'

The Bulgarian showed fans a glimpse of his talent after a spectacular goal against AC Milan in a pre-season friendly after missing most of the last season with a cruciate ligament injury. Unfortunately, Bojinov ruptured his Achilles tendon before Manchester City's first league game against Aston Villa and has yet to feature this season.

Great news. If anyone needs a break (in the nicest possible way!) it's him. Hope it all goes well and he can feature in the first team squad in a few weeks. Bit of a cliche but both him and Petrov have missed so many games that when they return it will be like having a couple of extra signings. I'm probably running before I can walk but it will be interesting to see who MH picks to play up front in the Uefa cup final, especially with Bojinov having already scored against Milan this season.

Powerful, quick, can win a yard easily and a fantastic shot. Well suited to the premiership and the club as a whole. I just hope to god he comes back and stays back this time. If he does that he's a City Legend in the making.

SkyBlueSuedeShoes, couldnt agree with you more, he really is very well liked and (without playing many games) is easily the most popular striker at the club. Just hope he can stay injury free for the remainder of the season and hopefully start the new campaign with a bang. Definate legend in the making CTID

Do we have any contacts as to who we played or how he did?

Brilliant news!!!!!

This guy is class and he could give the squad a real boost. Id rather have boj back than waste 25mil on santa cruz. I pray he stays injury free, cus he will score goals no doubt. His style reminds me of shearer, but not as good.

The best news all season ...this is like having an extra signing.

Great news for you. I'm a big fan of the lad and I was looking forward to seeing what he can achieve in the PL, but unfortunately he's been unlucky with injuries. Hopefully, he'll now get his fitness back and prove his worth to your team. Good luck!

This is great news - like another signing in the February transfer window.
