Manchester City Back In For Eto'o?

Google language translator

According to various newspapers, Manchester City are front runners to land the Cameroon international in the summer, although they will find tough competition with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all rumoured to be monitoring the forward.

Since Man City Vital Football broke the story that City were interested in Eto'o, the move failed to come to fruition but its now being reported that Barcelona's tiny striker is open to a move the premier league.

The 28-year-old will have only a year left to run on this contract in the summer, and Barcelona may feel the need to cash in on a player who has so far snubbed their efforts to offer him a new deal.

Would Manchester City fans like to see Eto'o join them in the summer? I for one could not feel happier to get a player of his ability.

Do City need another striker like Eto'o, or should City still pursue Santa Cruz come the summer? Either way the papers have kicked back into action after a short break when the January transfer window closed.

Blimey the media must really struggling for something to print if they are speculating on things that cannot possible happen for four months or more.

Wow, the newspapers are getting desperate! Next they'll link Terry with City- Wait, they already have done that! :)

I dont think many clubs will say no to Etoo, probably in the top 3 best strikers in the world. 100 goals in a 130 league games for Barcelona, 23 this season.

Eto is the best striker in spain. Better than van nistlerooy and villa, so id love to have him at city. He also is a fighter and team leader and thats what city are badly lacking at the moment. Hes wants a salary that matches raul, casiliias, messi and even henry, when his contract is up for negotiations. If barca wont pay him, city should try and get him.
enzo city
I reckon this could be on.

Oh what the hell, let's get him. We'll sell our Number 39 even tho' he's only been here 5 minutes, put Boj on the bench without giving him a chance and put Jo, Caicedo, Benjani, Evans out to grass. Sorry, in the reserves. I forgot Stir-wedge although because we couldn't be arsed to sort out his contract he now has us over a barrell and will go to Villa, but not to worry as we'll buy him back for 25 million in a couple of years. What makes anyone think that if 'Bluesy' et al can't coach, inspire, motivate or lift our current squad that by buying Eto he'll have anything less than another star striker not pulling his weight. Does Eto lie awake at night thinking to himself 'If only I could be coached by that MH, what a player I will be?' Probably not. The best 'teams' add up to more than just the sum of their parts. Perhaps if we worked with and developed what we've got instead of going all saucer eyed everytime a glamour boy is linked with us then we'd be halfway to getting that team. Too often we're a 'side' not a team. Eto is a terrific player but like Kaka would be the icing on a cake. At the moment we don't have a cake, but we do have some promising ingredients and they need a Gordon Ramsey/Nigel Slater to stir things up a bit. Not Jamie Oliver as he seems a bit WHU and Delia is spoken for. He's a dish but for now, or even the summer Eto = d'Oh. Bit of a rant I'm afraid, I'll feel better once I've had my tea. Don't all shout at me............

I have to admit to liking this guys game so for my money lets go for him in summer if he is available.
Doody
Interesting thing is, he is quoted as saying that we are one of three teams he would lile to join. Not like many of the superstars we have been trying to sign lately.

I'm not sure there are any other strikers like Eto'o. he is a goal machine. Rather him than Villa, Kaka, Ronaldinho... This guy puts the ball in the net.
Sindbad
I thinbk we would have to see in the summer if Hughes is to retained his position as manager for the coming season, because if we change in the summer, we may well be going to sign a lot more than Eto'o.
Buzz Lightyear
great striker....scores lots of goals.......but then again so did Jo....before he came to City
