Man City Websites - Compared

With so many Manchester City websites out there in cyberspace, we at Vital Man City decided to compare them.

The easiest and most accurate way is to use Alexa. One of the many things the company specialises in and that is gathering daily statistics. Reason - because it shows what is really going on out there in the World Wide Web. It is also a well-known fact that advertisers use Alexa to base their decisions around which sites they consider when it comes to advertising.

Alexa is also a perfect add-on if you currently use Firefox. To find out more, click here.

Sites Compared

I used the maximum number allowed and chose the following five City related sites.

Blue - Vital Football
Fawn - Bluemoon
Black - Manchester Evening News
Burgundy - Man City Official Site
Turquoise - Rivals.Net

Rank

When it came to rankings, in September 2008, the official site blew everyone away, but as you can see, the boat began to steady itself as the year ended.

Page Views

Again, September saw the official site run away with it, however mid January 2009, Bluemoon came from virtually know where to put the rest of us in our place. Now that the dust has settled and the transfer window is closed, many sites similar to ourselves have seen site traffic decrease.

These graphs demonstrate how competitive the markets are, nevertheless, come May, June, July and August, everyone will see an upturn, but who will win the battle of the stats? Who knows but at least we at Vital are doing our bit.

Fawn, Burgundy and Turquoise! You having a laugh Tudor! Throw in Powder Blue and you'll have Wengers favourite colours of matchday 'slacks'! Tough call Arsene.

Alexa provided the colours I just had to work out how to describe them. After sitting in total silence not knowing what to do I had to bow to the wife's expertise!! Me, if it's not Blue I ain't a clue.

Interesting to see the official site getting so many hits - I personally rarely go anywhere near it. Not saying there is anything wrong with the site, just don't see the point unless I want to buy tickets. As for the other sites, well have tried most of them and still occasionally have a look, but nothing really touches the sides after Vital MCFC
