No Point In Sulking Says Hart

Manchester City's number two keeper, Joe Hart talks candidly to Sky Sports and explains why there is no point in sulking.

Shay Given arrived at Eastlands during the January transfer window and ever since the Republic Of Ireland's resident number one arrived from Newcastle, Harts first team appearances have completely dried up.

The 21-year-old Englishman said...

'There is no point in sulking or being any other way about it. I've not lost my job; I've just lost my place in the team.'

'I just don't know what's going to happen tomorrow but I need to be playing first team football if I want to play for England, and so that's my aim at the moment - to force my way back into the Man City team.'

The following video clip lasts a mere one minute 12 seconds.

While he points out there is no point in sulking there are undertones of dissatisfaction and maybe a hint that summer is transfer time!

To be in the first team and play for England, Joe would need to play for another Premier league team and I can't see him displacing anyone at this time. He will get his chance again at City and will learn from Shay Given and this should make him a better goalkeeper. I would like to see him loaned out for a coule of months so he does get first team football, but I would not like to lose him altogether.

At least he has the right attitude and is prepared to fight for his place. I am sure his opportunity will come before the season is out. Stick in there Joe !!!

Agree with Buzz, which team could he move to and become their number one number 1. Certainly not one of the major clubs, not even Bolton, Blackburn, Sunderland, Wigan, Spurs, West Ham or WBA. Boro couldn't afford him which just about leaves Hull and Stoke. Apologies to their keepers although they probably couldn't afford him either. If he went to Stoke he'll probably be in the Championship next season. Newcastle are also broke but they can't not give Harper a chance after his loyalty. Even at Villa he would presumably only be understudy to Friedal. So he's probably best staying put and learning from SG.

I don't think you could afford to loan him out Buzz. He needs to be on the bench in case of injury to Given.

You could do that TBF, if it was for Short term and you put in a clause in case of injury. You will need to keep him sharp. The only other way is to play him, in the domestic trophies and hopefully the early rounds of the european comps.
