Vital MC Man Of The Match Awards: Aston Villa

Shaun Wright-Phillips was in scintillating form for City in the superb victory over 4th placed Villa, his exceptional work rate earning him our Vital MC MOTM vote...

SWP is now tied with Superman Ireland for our player of the season on 9 awards each. As they did last season with our eventual winner Elano, our polls are proving a sound indicator of the squad's performance.

>PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO THE CARL RAMSBOTTOM APPEAL:

On 27 November 2008, Carl travelled over to Germany to watch his beloved side play Schalke in the UEFA Cup, however due to a tragic incident at a German train station, Carl suffered life threatening injuries.

Due to this horrendous incident, Carl ended up in a coma for three weeks. He is currently in a rehabilitation unit in Germany while his family remain by his bedside.

The family are hopeful that Carl might be in a position to be repatriated to a rehab unit within the United Kingdom, hopefully sometime in March.

Like that one merlin but glad you did - I thought he was superb and as BM says, Dunne wasn't far behind, closely followed by Ireland and Elano.

SWP was as always superb .....I also thought that Ched looked very sharp even though it was only a very brief appearance.
