Wearing Your City Colours Abroad & With Pride

In September 2008, Sunday 21st to be exact, the wife and I were in sunny Cyprus taking in the ultra-violets when we met several City fans wearing their colours.

Location

Woody's Bar - Limassol
Occasion - City 6-0 Portsmouth

We took a few hours out from baking in the 30 degrees heat and why not, the one and only Manchester City were being shown live on one of the pubs several huge television screens.

A pint of Keo in one hand, fag in the other, air conditioning to the max - perfect conditions.

One of chaps had been to the AC Omonia v City UEFA Cup game a few days earlier and was still in a state of euphoria having been best man to his mates wedding (Nicosia).

Needless to say, we poured ourselves out of the pub, especially after watching the 6-0 drubbing of Pompey.

Have you been in similar circumstances? If so, and you have video clips, or pictures of yourselves abroad and wearing the colours, please feel free to send them in and I'll be more than happy to post them via our front pages.

After trawling through Youtube, I found this. Brings a chill down your spine doesn't it.

You can send me your video clips and photo's by e-mail

Living in a country where City fans a thin on the ground the shirt is an instant intro and a stranger suddenly becomes a great mate.

I take several strips with me whenever I visit Canada and wear them out frequently. For several years, I would be aproached by (mostly foreigners) and asked if I was a Lazio supporter! I bought my old man a replica home kit the last time he was over, and whenever he wears his out and about he tells me that people now recognise MCFC, especially since the takeover.
