Vital MC Man Of The Match Awards: Aalborg

Manchester City's Brazilian masquerading as an Irishman, Stephen 'Superman' Ireland bags his 10th Vital MC MOTM vote of the season...

As the season enters it's final weeks, it's down to MCFC Academy graduates Ireland and Shaun Wright-Phillips as to who will be crowned Vital MC Player Of The Season.

Both were outstanding last night, as was last season's main man Elano in what should have been a 10 nil massacre, and amongst other players are running into a rich vein of form at precisely the right time.

COME ON CITY!!

PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO THE CARL RAMSBOTTOM APPEAL:

On 27 November 2008, Carl travelled over to Germany to watch his beloved side play Schalke in the UEFA Cup, however due to a tragic incident at a German train station, Carl suffered life threatening injuries.

Due to this horrendous incident, Carl ended up in a coma for three weeks. He is currently in a rehabilitation unit in Germany while his family remain by his bedside.

The family are hopeful that Carl might be in a position to be repatriated to a rehab unit within the United Kingdom, hopefully sometime this month.

City Academy graduate -- 22-years-old -- the world at his feet. TEN man-of-the-match performances already this season. Fantastic form. JB's "Brazilian masquerading as an Irishman" is spot on. He is showing pure talent and skill. And the way he and Robinho are starting to turn on the magic you could well believe he is truly becoming a "Samba-beat" player. But in reality he has got there by hard work and total commitment... This the requisite for the skill to shine through. Robinho is recognised as a world-class player. But at times last night you could see Stevie in the same regard. And the even better news is that our very own SWP, also a City graduate, is looking the real deal too. I'm pinching myself and there is pain. But even so a dream is starting... If City can build a team around these three... We fans can see the UK's best football at Eastlands.

I voted for SWP but i wouldn't argue with this result as i thought it was very close between the two of them.

Next match, whatever happens, I think we should all vote for Robinho. He can't stay on the same amount of mom awards as Jo surely. As for this match agree with the above... Sweep or Ireland could of got it.

I think Stevie Deserved this MOM, he was at the heart of most of the attacks, and will track back and defend, as does SWP. For me at 22 if he stays with the Club, will turn out to be City playmaker and I hope that he returns to International football for his Country.

Ireland was pure claas, His link up play with robinho was excellent. Interesting to see elano play a deeper, desciplined role, that allowed ireland to roam wherever. It worked cus we where solid, but maybe not attacking enough to really stuff alborg 5-0 or 6-0. The balance is looking right. 4-3-3 really suits ireland because he isnt a central midfielder or winger. Hes something in between, a play maker like xavi and iniesta at barcelona. My only hope is that he brings this form into next season, cause hes never shown consistency sincebreaking through to the first team. I have a funny feeling city will get something today against chelsea..
