Vital MC Man Of The Match Awards: Chelsea

City's rollercoaster season dipped again at Chelsea but Nedum Onuoha gave another solid, sensible and dependable performance at centre back. He's your Vital MC MOTM...

Mark Hughes has been craving consistency all season and he will be relieved to see that as Ned forges an understanding with Richard Dunne and Shay Given at the heart of the City defence, we are starting to concede less goals. The Blues have shipped only 4 goals in their last 6 games in both current competitions.

After what could have been a goal rout at Chelski, City continue to hold the 7th best goal difference in the Premier League. Goal difference will be crucial at the end of this tight season for both European qualification and Relegation issues.

Thanks to a couple of crucial last ditch interventions by the 22 year old MCFC Academy graduate yesterday, that goals cushion would have been in danger. He was often City's one cool head while others ball watched around him.

PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO THE CARL RAMSBOTTOM APPEAL:

On 27 November 2008, Carl travelled over to Germany to watch his beloved side play Schalke in the UEFA Cup, however due to a tragic incident at a German train station, Carl suffered life threatening injuries.

Due to this horrendous incident, Carl ended up in a coma for three weeks. He is currently in a rehabilitation unit in Germany while his family remain by his bedside.

The family are hopeful that Carl might be in a position to be repatriated to a rehab unit within the United Kingdom, hopefully sometime this month.

If you would like to make a donation, please make cheques payable to P&W MCFCCSA and send it to Ian Ramsbottom. 12 Plant Hill Road Blackley M96NH.

Can't argue with that. Ned was the only one to show up to the game.
