MCFC Continue Ruining Football With Tickets For 5

You won't find too many of the hacks and learned pundits who ranted over 'Kakagate' drooling over the latest news of City continuing to build bridges with their fans...

Following City Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak confirming sizeable reductions and freezes for next season's Season Card prices, Executive Chairman Garry Cook has announced that starting tomorrow (Wednesday 25th March) for a period of five days, adult tickets for City's UEFA Cup Quarter Final Second Leg clash with Hamburg on the 16th April will be available for only 5.

Tickets will then be available for 10 for a further ten days up to and including 8th April, after which admission will double to 20.

Tickets for all fans under 16 years old
will be only 1 for the duration of the selling period.

The Exec Chairman explained:

'These prices are our way of saying thank-you to all our supporters. It's been a long time since we were in a position to perhaps win silverware and we want to make this game accessible to all.

'After starting in the UEFA Cup in July before the Premier League season even kicked off it would be a remarkable achievement to reach the semi-final but we know how tough this tie is going to be against top notch opposition who went away to Galatasaray and won in style, and we want Eastlands to be rocking.'

You can only applaud City again for this initiative which continues to follow the guidelines of the club's evolution directed by His Highness Sheikh Mansour:

'Importantly, we see that evolution being on every level and borne out of a sustainable approach that has its foundations in the club's Academy; it's fans and the relationship with the Manchester Community.'

Yet another one in the eye for all the media pontificators and 'experts' across English football who were shrieking only three months ago that Manchester City are 'ruining football.'

Tickets? For 5 pounds? We don't want any old riff-raff watching City you know! If we're really unlucky, the cheap tickets will attract some of the wavering glory hunters from the swamp, and that wouldn't do at all!

Not only do they fund our transfers each time they fill their cars for their trek up from London, but now they are subsidising our tickets when they do it too!! Sweet!! Love our owners, love our club!!! CTID.

I'd love for Pompey to reduce their ticket prices that low!! Good luck for the game though, good to see one English team at least progressing - would rather it was though to be fair!!

Its a great jesture by the club, obviously the 25,000-30,000 in previous home ties have spurred this offer. A 2nd Leg Home Q-F tie for a fiver - unbeatable!

I can't take advantage either but I'd be all over it if I could. Everybody is assuming that this is to give a little back and reward the fans which I don't disagree with. But I think it has alot to do with getting bums in seats for this game and for future games. I'm all for it as the supporters as everybody knows are the 12th man and hopefully come the night of the 16th of April all you lucky beggars will be going home with big grins on your faces. CTID

Yeah the ticket facility has been completely overhauled JB. Tickets for a fiver is a fantastic gesture by the club to cement its 'family club' status. No prawn sandwhiches at Manchester City.

JB, if the Club, expects to sell out for every game, then they should be considering expansion and a better system to cope with demand, as a top professional club should not be let down in its facilities.
