'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Channel M City Legends Debate Show Sponsorship

Vital Manchester City has contacted Channel M and made enquiries into the possible sponsorship of their hugely popular 'City Legends Debate Show'.

City Legends Debate Show - Sky Channel 203

Hosted by Jimmy Wagg, this is the show for City fans who want to hear what the legends think about life in the Blue half of Manchester.

Every week Jimmy is joined by an ex-City player and a local journalist to reflect upon the weekend's game and discuss all the news from Eastlands. Expect plenty of football banter as well as some serious football debate.

I have negotiated a price for the last four shows of the season; however, I have only seven days to give Channel M my answer.

What shall we do? Is it worth trying to raise £2000 or are we at Vital Man City trying to run before we can walk?

Further details can be found on our Site Information Forum.

id rather say something on this rather than people look at this article and not comment over it. as we all know money is a little tight for everyone these days so maybe we could have a thread in the site information section and people can say who is willing to chip in. they dont have to say how much if they dont want but at least we all will have a feeling of how many can do this and it may prompt people to add a little something if they know that theres people doing this. is that ok ??

try to get additional advertising from the mancheter evening news, which is owned by the guardian media - which owns channel m. also get a deep-link on their sports pages online (online button on MEN website) that will take u directly to /www.manchestercity.vitalfootball.co.uk . i think MEN and channel m webites average 200,000 page impressions a month. this would give plenty more traffic to www.manchestercity.vitalfootball.co.uk. personally i dont think isnt necessary to advertise on channel m, though i do love the city debate show (but no one watches it) online advertisin i more cost effective and the way forward. but what ever decision u make , get the best deal possible. good luck lads

Not living in the UK i don't know if this is a channel open to everybody or, if it's a 'pay for view' channel. If it's the latter then surely it would have a limited audience.

Its a sky channel, but dont know if you have to subscribe to sky to actually view M Channel, but it is a cable or satelite thing, which not everyone has at the moment. The governement have decided that all media will have to be digital, but no-one has considered people who don't have the knowledge or the money to change their modes of listening and viewing and no help appears to be forthcoming either, unless you know different. As for advertsing Vital Manchester City, I too don't think its necessary as we have grown in the last few months and no advertsing is better than word of mouth. The number of visitors we get is brilliant, its changing them from visitors into registered members.

Channel M has contacted me and offered us a better deal- £1,200 for the final four shows of the season, plus a link from their web pages to ours. Should we raise some money but not enough to cover the costs I would channel all my efforts into radio advertising. Radio Tameside to be precise.

thanks BM wasn't sure. The other thing is how does VMC make money, if we advertise there must be something in it for the site?
