City Fan Views on ADUG & Hughes

Vital Manchester City regular bluemooner_mcfc sent us the following article.

Love him or loath him but it looks as though Mark Hughes is going to be given time in an attempt to try and turn Manchester City FC's fortunes around.

I don't like this one bit (as most of you will know) but what I do want to say is we have owners who have not acted with the predicted knee jerk reaction and sacked a manger after what I perceive as a poor season.

Previous City Chairman would have no doubt strung Hughes out to dry by now so I say fair play to our owners for sticking with this muppet and for trying to steady what might be described by many as a sinking ship.

In my opinion Mr Hughes needs to set out his stall in plenty of time for next season as it looks as though we've more than likely blown our chance of securing a seventh Premier League position and next seasons Europa League qualification.

ADUG

The gaffer must now feel that he has the backing from ADUG, so perhaps he can now chill out a little and get more out the players rather than making excuses about ' my teams always perform better in the second half of a season'

My View

We fans want it from the very first game MH as you are very lucky to be managing our great club, not only because of our wealth but we let an EX-manyoo player into our fold, therefore, its up to you to take us forward. You have being given a second chance (as I think you would have bought the bullet if we had lost against relegation fodder WBA on Sunday), when other managers would have been shown the door after such a poor season.

We are City.

Nice article... All I will say is ADUG is not stupid, he is taking all Hughes mistakes in and I honestly think once the seasons over that Hughes will be out!

' my teams always perform better in the second half of a season' .... he said that on one occasion and it keeps being brought up every week lol. You know my view... we need stability. Our home form this year has been great... only the rags have won more home games. Away from home we've been appalling. We've made some quality signings. I'm more than happy to see what next year brings with MH at the helm. If this time next year we're not improved though I'll hunt him down and kill him.

well ive been thinking about this a lot since it seemes ADUG are sticking with him so i better get used to it and just hope hughes can turn it around. i dont go for the" hes got us to the quarter finals of the uefa cup" thing because look at the luck we have had and i know you need luck but its papering over the cracks. so im writing this season off now and i want improvements from the first game next season and im going to bite my lip for the rest of this season and just look forward to the start of next season.

"my teams always perform better in the second half of a season" is a classic hughes sayin. He had every1 believing it and look at us now. Hughes has been failure, no uefa cup football for the "worlds richest club" is unforgivable. Its like a ferrari without the wheels - useless. I see nothing to suggest that he will be successful next season, If ADUG are really serious about taking city forward, they would take ultimate step of employing a proven world class manager who will stamp his authority on city and the premier league. If ADUG arent serious - leave hughes in charge, link every big name player to the club, become a laughing stock, and plod again next season finishing 8th-9th with 400million spent. Hughes will bask in the "fergie took 5years at united to win the league" syndrome safety. Hughes is a accepting of having robinhos, kakas, villas bought without his consent,. Mourinho, hiddink, lippi's of this world wont stand for that. This factor may keep hughes in a job sadly. I hope mcfcthriller is right with his prediction.

Love him or loathe him! Thats a bit too much i think mate, what's he done to merit a good loathing! Give him another season, he may well have an amazing one next time......... On the whole you've gotta be fairly satisfied up to now (away form aside, a fluke i think). Anyone talking about Mourinho,Lippi,Hiddink etc is dreaming, maybe in two years who knows. I'm no soft touch either, I was at the gates at Maine Road most weeks trying to murder Swalesy!

Whilst stability is a wonderful thing to have and to hold, sticking with something so fundamentally flawed and wrong will lead to one place only.

Well i thought he would have gone after the Hamburg game but i still feel that our owners have something up their sleeve

All the excuses I've offered on his behalf this season will be redundant in August. Next season is the time to judge him, and I'll be the first to jump on the sacking bandwagon come Chrstmas is things hav'nt improved.

I am with the 'judge next season' consensus. Great article BM, I think that is how a lot of people feel. To be fair, ADUG have stuck by their word and that says a lot about the future of the club, more than who is managing it.
