'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Manchester City Headline In South Africa

There were some serious doubts if the annual Vodacom Challenge pre-season tournament would be held this year due to the Confederations Cup being held in South Africa this June. These fears were quashed on Wednesday night when the organisers confirmed that Manchester City would be participating, alongside Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

Brazilian stars Robinho and Elano are unlikely to feature for City as they will no doubt be playing for the Brazilian national team at the Confederations Cup.

The Confederations Cup will take away much of the interest in the Vodacom Challenge this year, as will the absence of City's Brazilian stars. Fans will be hoping that some of City's latest signings will be on show to boost the interest in what will be the tenth Vodacom Challenge event.

The competition was won by Manchester United last year and previous winners also include Tottenham.

Imitation is the best form of flattery I guess. So where will you be heading next year? Indonesia? Nigeria? China?
