New Sponsorship & Shirt At Eastlands
Manchester City FC are on the verge of announcing a new four-year sponsorship deal that will see a new look City shirt for next season.
Air Etihad will replace the clubs current sponsors, Thomas Cook and will pay the Eastlands club around £30 million for the privilege.
The club will also have a new shirt manufacture, with Umbro set to take over from current manufacturers Le Coq Sportif, in a seperate deal worth around £15 million.
City fans can expect an official announcement prior to Saturdays Premier League fixture against Tottenham.
Etihad Airways
Established in 2003, Etihad Airways is the flag carrier airline of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The company is based in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE.
Etihad translated into Arabic means 'united', 'federation' or 'union'.

My gut feeling is that I reckon that shirt is a fake. The badge is the give away. Too small and not aligned with the umbro emblem. I'd suggest it doesn't look stylish enough for the new owners. Well, at least I hope it's a fake! Top rumour, red and black sash on white coming back for the away kit!

Horrible design, i havent been impressed with a home strip since kappa laser blue and the old umbro kits before then. I hate this new shirt. When was the last time umbro did a nice kit???? Englands new strip is terrilbe. Umbro is ownded by nike, like adidas owns reebok. I reckon the rags asked nike for exclusivity. So we got umbro instead :(I saw puma designs online the other day and they were alot better.

Design is a bit so-so, but hey, if the rags have a go at us for allegedly having "united" on our shirt, just ask them what happened to AIG...

i hope and prey that the link city sl1cker sent is the real thing. looks like the manufacturers have finally gone retro which i've hoped they would for a while. Rather than all these daft lines and designs that we seem to always entertain on our kits

Etihad’ is Arabic for ‘united’, and hence a symbol of the bonding among the seven emirates that constitute the UAE. As the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, a sovereign nation, it is hardly surprising the airline is called United. If the Rags have a pop on this it would say a lot more about their mental age than anything else.
