Vital Man City's Man Of The Season? He's Irish!

VITAL MANCHESTER CITY'S MAN OF THE SEASON

Without Stephen Ireland's scintillating performances for Manchester City this season we'd be in a dark place this week. He's Vital MC's Man Of The Season...

The quicksilver MCFC Academy graduate who Rocky style, spent last summer kung fu-ing his way around the pennines in an admirable career defining effort has stunned English and Irish football with his brilliance.

The plaudits have rolled in almost weekly for our very own Superman and rightly so.

Our Vital MC Man of The Match Awards have proved a popular feature for the second season running and as with last year's victor Elano, they have given an accurate insight into how the City squad has performed and who is putting a shift in.

Stevie should be signing a well merited and vastly improved new City contract this summer and for Planet Blue, that day cannot come quick enough.

But right now is the time for the bedazzling Irishman to take a well earned rest and weigh up his future. Will he return to The Republic side before too long? Only time will tell, but for now, the Emerald Isle's loss is most certainly Manchester City's continuing gain.

A special mention should also go out to second placed Shaun Wright-Phillips who took time out from a mad busy schedule to talk to Vital MC this year. He has breathed fire into the City side since he came home from Chelsea and remains a key member of the England Squad.

Finally, in joint third place we find a third Academy graduate in Nedum Onuoha alongside the popular heroics of Pablo Zabaleta. The no nonsense and rapidly improving Onuoha has been sensational. So many of his interventions in the second half of the season have been more than invaluable. Zaba's versatile, never say die attitude has won the hearts of Blues worldwide and he's going to be a big player for City in the seasons to come.

So raise your mouse in a toast to Superman, SWP, Ned and Zaba!

Great to see Superman take this out it is well deserved ...well done Stevie .....I am also glad to see Ned up there, he looks to be taking a page out of SI's book by putting in the effort on the pitch where it counts.
Doody
Dan Sturridge would do well to take that on board.

Dan Who? Well done Stevie, sign that new contract and you can look to beat Dunne's record of 4 in a row.

No one deserved it more, and its a clear sign of the direction the team is taking as Dunne has been surpassed. Hell of a season Stevie! Keep it up!

Stevie's a different player than the one Stuart Pearce was coaching. he has stepped up into a higher class and would get into almost any Premiership first team now.
Sindbad
As a neutral I can say with some clarity that Ireland was by far your most consistent attacking player and fully deserves accolades. Good choice.
