Top 5: Centre Forwards

Roque Santa Cruz managed 19 goals in 37 games during the 2007-08 season and City's attempts to sign him were well documented. After a mere four goals in 20 appearances in an injury plagued 2008-09 season, surely Mark Hughes can't still be contemplating spending in excess of Ł23m for the 27-year-old.

With Mario Gomez's imminent departure to Bayern Munich, many Manchester City fans will be wondering who we could possibly sign to fill the obvious gap in our attacking force.

Here is a list of some of the top continental targetmen in their respective leagues:

What? No Berbatov? lol!!!
Johnny Baguette
I don't think this article has come out right? (maybe just me, but the pictures are blank, and the first letter from every line is missing). anyway... Zlatan Ibrahimović dasn't really impressed me at all in the games against english clubs I've seen him play in. nor did Edin Džeko when we played them. If I were you, i'd keep going for David Villa. If only pompey had a bilionaire owner...

Wot, no Berbatov? LOL In all seriousness, I know we don't really like Diego Forlan, but surely he should have been included in that list?
fifthcolumnblue
hey carpet, good luck signing anything but dross. :-) I'm not sure who we should go for.... Out of that group, i've only seen Ibra play. I'm sure Cook will wrap up the Tevez transfer tomorrow morning.
severedgein
The list comprises of Centre Forwards, not Strikers. Hence no Forlan at 5ft 11in or Villa at 5 ft 9in. Its obvious we need a big man up front.

Great post 8th. Of that lot Edin Džeko is my pick!

Go buy all five you will still be ***** next season.

A bout of indigestion teddy .........watch us next season then come back and post an apology
Doody
If you weren't just a tad worred teddy, you'd would be here posting. Its called a freudian slip. Best of luck to Portsmouth and hope motor mouth has learnt his lesson. ADUG certainly shifted him in quick fashion. I hope that we can get someone with quality in to put away the chances we create.

"hey carpet, good luck signing anything but dross" - thanks for that mate... I think/hope we will find some suitable players to build our squad with though.

Forlan is europes top goal scorer this season. He regularly scores 20plus for villareal and now atletico madrid, His performances this season has bettered villa and eto in laliga. Id sign him ahead of anyone this summer.

Congratulaetions to barcelona. What a performance, i hope city model themselves on their attacking, passing play.
enzo city
The main reason we need a decent CF is not just to score goals but to HOLD THE BALL UP!!! How many times have we been defending against an attack, clear the ball and then the ball go straight to the opposition who continue to attack!??! ALL THE TIME!!! If we had a quality CF then he could hold the ball up until other players managed to get back up the pitch. Currently we don't have a single player who can do that.

I thought it a little unrealistic to include Ibrahimovic but apparently they're open to offers for him. He has fantastic experience and you never know... We would probably hear nothing until the ink was dry.
