I don't think I have ever seen a quote from him, has anyone asked him why he wont sign?

There should be no acrimony about this. But the fact that City's Academy is generally recognised as one of the very best, and still improving thanks to the commitments by Sheikh Mansour, should be recognised by any young player joining the Academy. My view is that we should operate a programme like Arsenal, who are signing players on six year contracts. I think that could be the way forward. Perhaps a journalist should ask Jim Cassell and/or Cook about that instead of trying to disaffect our players. Buzz's question is apt. Has anyone really got to the bottom of why Danny won't sign? I think fans should be given a very clear answer to that question. I voted that we should cut our losses with Sturridge if he hasn't got the loyalty we expect from him. Buzz's question makes me want to know more. My opinion at the moment is that he has been heavily influenced by his family and agents who only see ££££ signs. But in the absence of something from the lad himself...

A 75k a week player must be - established first team player, prove his ability throughout a number of seasons, international player, 20 plus goals a season. Sturridge cant achieve most of these yet because he young and always injured. So he should knuckle down and work hard i.e. ireland and onuha. If he wanted to leave for first team football elsewhere, i could understand his stance. But hes demanding 75k a week?!?!? Park at united signed a five deal at 50k a week - a proven premiership winner and international. Does sturridge think he'll get first team football at chelsea, villa or even at fulham. NO. Any team willing to pay 75k for injury prone, unproven sturridge must need their heads testing. Sturridge will regret leaving city in the future.

I would like to see what he settles for because there is no team out there willing to pay that sort of money for a player of his current ability.
Doody
Hopefully he'll come to Chelsea! We need a back-up CF! He's young and fast, shame you guys can't hold on to him! There's always Roque!
haigh_for_7
If Sturridge can stay fit enough to string a good number of consecutive appearances together then I think we'll see that he has the ability to be a top, top player. However if he is already showing Drogba-esque attitude problems then it looks likely he'll never fulfil his potential.
Bamberini
Haigh ...for 75k a week you can have him .....
Doody
haigh, how long do you think sturridge's ego will let him sit on the reserves/ bench at chelski before he starts demanding to be let loose on the 1st team ahead off the likes of drogba, essien, lampard. at al. he's good and Can become a good player but needs to learn to appreciate he's got a lot to learn and IF he can do it at chelski good luck as i think he will disrupt the dressing room,as he thinks he's better than he actually is!he is alegend in his own living room no-more than that, a greedy sod yes but 75k a week get real...

Still no announcements about Sturridge's future... But he has burn't all the bridges I think and has to leave now. He may get an awful lot less than he expected.
