Kaka Story Is Cheesing Me Off

Every media outlet in the UK is covering the Kaka story and whether he will leave AC Milan for Real Madrid, but who cares?

Earlier this year, January to be exact, Kaka rejected a £100m transfer and a reported wage offer of £500,000-a-week to go to Manchester City and in an interview on Tuesday the Brazilian told Gazzetta dello Sport he wanted to stay with the Serie A club. So why the change of heart?

Personally I blame Kaka's father and agent Bosco Leite for allowing his son to be used in a money orientated game of bluff. Leite will receive a percentage of any potential deal with figures of around 2 million Euros a year being touted should the Madrid deal go through. However Real president Perez is not prepared to pay such a huge sum, especially when the club have to find a world record £56m transfer fee just to get the Brazilian to sign.

Game of bluff

It appears both AC Milan and Real Madrid have agreed the transfer fee, but didn't Milan owner and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi say the same back in January when City were prepared to open their cheque book for the 27-year-old?

It seems Kaka's advisors are holding out just to see if the likes of Chelsea are prepared to enter the negotiating table. You never know, if the Russian tycoon Roman Abramovich is happy to disrupt proceedings then Premier League fans might be in for a treat. Otherwise can someone tell Kaka to sort his life out, make his final decision and move on. This never ending story is beginning to cheese me off.

And I quote: "Well, I think it's disgusting. Ruining football and will precipitate the end of the game and most probably the world as we know it. We are all going to hell in a handcart and you couldn't make it up. Really, they should just drop the bomb." - Michael Henderson and the hacks in the street of shame, Michel *****ini, Sepp *****ter, ********* Whinger, Sir Alex Taggart, Clown Lawrenson - or would they dare? Move on. I am beginning to think that Brazilians dont have the psychy to make it through a long intense premier season ... unlike Argentines.

The only interesting side to the Kaka issue to me is that there could be a chain of other transfers "waiting to happen" if this one does go ahead. The amount of money is almost immaterial because the cash will be made back very easily by specially arranged money-spinning games. Apparently when Real bought Zidane they earned £15M a game in Japan with exhibition matches, then sponsorship deals, etc. Zidane was pretty soon paid for and raised the profile of the club worldwide. Good business. My view is if Kaka goes to Real then the pull for other players to go to Madrid and play in the same team as the "best in the world" will become very powerful. It's the Galactico era all over again. If Kaka arrives in Madrid I'd expect Ronaldo to go there as well... Then Manyoo would hit the transfer market with a LOT of cash to spend. It could get very interesting. But Mark Hughes will, I'm sure, just consistently keep promoting the City message of ambition to the Premiership's best players. And others, like Barry, will come. Add a Galactico name to the mix and anything could happen...

Where's all that crap from London hacks praising Kaka for "restoring their faith in footballers by not joining City" etc?
Johnny Baguette
It will be interesting to see if the hacks get stuck into whoever finishes up with him, for ruining football with over the top bids .......

Could we be in the running for Kaka? Does G.Barry know something we don't? The end result of this 'saga' could be very surprising.
