Vital Manchester City new signing, ManchesterBLUE wrote the following introduction via our Newcomers Welcome forum.
Hi to you all. I'm Paul from Clayton, luckily living with an eye view of our great stadium. I was looking for a web forum to discuss, exchange views etc on City and other footballing matters. More so cos at the moment I am so sick of the rubbish that's being put about by general footballing public, media and pundits alike about our great club.
There isn't a fan in the world that hasn't sat there and honestly thought to themselves, how lucky are City? How lucky are Man City to of been bought by a multi billion pound owner? Fact also is that every green bone that there is in every football supporter that doesn't support City is showing just how jealous they are.
We finished the season and immediately started to show our hand on the transfer merry-go-round. The purchase of Barry from Villa is in my opinion was a good buy. Funny isn't it when one club (Liverpool FC) doesn't get their man and then suddenly he's no good, a poor buy, waste of money!
Well I also believe we have bought well so far since the arrival of The Sheik, and thnkfully we haven't done a Chelski and bought just anyone that is worth over £20m plus. It looks to me that Mark Hughes is trying to build a solid team of strength and quality instead a team of Super Stars, pre madonnas who require their ego's rubbing everyday.
From a footballing point of view it must be exciting to look at a team as a footballer and think, wow they're gonna be big, I wanna be a part of that. This I do believe are the thoughts of players like Bellamy, Barry, Robiniho and Given etc. The players we want to come to City is any player who looks at us and truly believe in themselves. Any player who climbs onto the Manchester City wagon could become legends at this club and possibly within in the football world.
If / when Man City do become THE best football club in the world how many players are going look back and think oops, should have took that contract etc. Sturridge is the first name that springs to mind.
In my opinion, 9 out of 10 people who aren't Man City fans have nothing constructive at all to say about anything that we do or, who we buy or, for that matter, look at how we will play.
Okay, so Barry has joined City and boy how I believe he has made the right decision, not because I'm a City supporter but because anyone with half a brain can surely see that something big is going happen at Eastlands.
My beloved club is dismantling the sculpture 'The B of the Bang' from outside the stadium - this has to be done to allow room for the explosion that is going to happen. Oh what a future we have in store.
Man City has a plan, there is no doubt. Eventually everyone is going to sit up and take notice, we are THE team of the future, we are THE MIGHTY MAN CITY.
Many thanks go to ManchesterBLUE.
