Elano Becomes Another City Statistic

Elano Blumer is on the verge of becoming another statistic on the Manchester City's 'Hall of Fame' chart. Oops did I say, 'Hall of Fame', sorry I meant to say 'Hall of Moans'!

Initially, the Brazilian captured the hearts of many, but with his sudden outbursts criticising Mark Hughes tactical capabilities and with his recent moans and groans regarding his first team place, many of the City faithful have simply had enough and have resigned to the fact that the 27-year-old attacking midfielder is on his way out of Eastlands.

While he insists he has no desire to quit the club, he wants Hughes to clarify his future role.

'I had a meeting with the board and I asked about the signings they are going to make and whether there was still a place for me in the set-up,' he said.

'I just asked them to be straight with me. If I can renew my contract now, I'll stay. If not, I want to leave and look for another club.'

No immediate decision

Elano is currently on international duty nevertheless, he finished off by saying...

'There are a number of things happening but now's not the moment to talk about this because I'm focused on Brazil.'

Should he decide to leave, Inter Milan are the hot favourites to capture his services.

I wouldn't mind him at pompey either... He's a little better than our current midfield anyway...

At the moment its hard to see Elano in the starting line up, but would be welcome on the Berti, but that ould not satisy Elano who seems to want to air his grievances in public rather than behind closed doors, making his stay at City virtually untenable.

There are a lot of City fans who don't want to see Elano leave this Summer. There are a lot of City fans unhappy with elements of the management style at City. I can think of no reason why it would benefit City to lose a player of Elano's ability coming into a season where we are aiming to take on the Top 4 teams and planning at least a Top 6 finish. I think it would be a mistake we would regret, particularly if some of our midfielders get injured. However, I do accept that the City management team is eminently capable of making this sort of mistake.

I suggest his departure is virtually assured.

There are those who will blame everybody but Elano. However there can only be one boss and that has to be the manager love him or hate him. Elano has done himself no favours with his shows of petulance stuttering performances and his public outbursts. As talented a player as he is he needs to understand that he but one small cog in the machine that is MCFC.
Doody
Elano's quality. Why do you want to let him go if you are aiming high?!

As long as we can sign someone better than I see no reason why he shouldn't be bundled into a taxi forthwith. He moans too much and goes missing much of the time. So why are some people so reluctant to see this primmadonna leave? The future of Mancity is not tied to whether or not we keep Elano!
fifthcolumnblue
Yeah, but the quality he provides largely determines where you'd end up!

good day sir.
