'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Man City Moaners

I have been a Manchester City fan for 24 years, I go home and away matches but I can't help and sometimes think what the moaners will have install for a home match day.

Luke sent us the following...

When I go to an away game I spend 90+ minutes singing my heart out for the lads as do all the other Citizens. I hear the odd disparaging comment now and then but most of the time I hear what I believe is the best away fans in the country.

Last season the away form has been dismal at best but we as always are 100% behind our beloved club. I think next season we will address our away form with the players we are going to bring in over the summer transfer window.

Now for the strange world that is Eastland's!

With one of the best home league records in the league and scoring records one would expect our place to be rocking every week. But no, we have the managers/ pundits on hand to give us a running commentary on their take of events. 'Kick It' 'pass it' 'move'.

Do these people not know anything about football? Do these fans not realise the management staff spend all week with the players telling them what to do and how to approach the game.

I am aware people will say they pay their money so can say what they want. This is true but they do not say it they shout it. I pay my money and I want to watch the match and support my team, not listen to idiots who love the sound of their own voices.

What also startles me is that these people never get behind the team? never have anything positive to say and funnily enough, I never seem to see these at away games?

So my question to the moaners, is why?

Many thanks Luke.

I agree Luke ...they are Fans ..from the word fanatic ...not supporters ...from those who SUPPORT their team ...time to start supporting your team and not being fanatical about the game.....
Doody
alright luke pal, i know what you mean, i've seen them and obviously heard them more the pity, there's nothing you can do about it i'm affraid, i first started going to see City in 1974 when i was 7 and i remember a big fat bloke screaming his head off at anything and every thing, some cty fans were telling him to pipe down but he was having none of it, then ' and i'll never forget this ' one of the old meat & gravy pies landed on his head, it was one of the funniest things i've ever seen, anyway this guy wasn't impressed and he scuttled off f ing & jeffing to himself, don't know who threw the growler but it worked, but as long as i've been going you've always had foamers, and i would imagine every other team has them as well
SIR TROYSTER
Troyster, thank you for telling us how to deal with these folks properly. I feel sorry for the maintenence crews, as there will be plenty pie throwing going on for a while, but i'm sure we can get these folks cleared out.

sometimes you can't help shouting things like "pass to petrov!" even if you know they can't hear you.

Fans come in all shapes and sizes. City fans are amongst the most loyal in the world and have gone through decades of frustration and elation. Emotions run high at games and I'd much rather the shouters got the frustration out by shouting than doing some other things which are clearly destructive and dangerous. At a match, I just sing myself hoarse. But if somebody's paid for their ticket, I think they should be allowed to shout anything they want as long as it's not inflammatory, racist etc. Just because I sing doesn't make me a better supporter than them.
