Portsmouth Receive Bid For Glen Johnson

Saturday 13 June 2009: Sky Sports News are saying Portsmouth have received a bid for their right-back, Glen Johnson, but from which club?

Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City have been linked with the 24-year-old and now we hear bids between £15 and £20 million have been tabled.

Johnson's move from the south coast could bring him a whopping salary of £120,000-a-week.

More on this as it develops.

Does anyone know if the bid is from City?

I can only see it coming from Chelsea or City. Arsenal wont pay that much, United have a good prospect coming through and Tottenham already have Corluka and Hutton. None of the other clubs can afford him.

The fact that the bid is from a Champions League club rules out CIty. It's Chelsea or Liverpool.

Champions League side - where did that come come? SSN are still saying bids have been received from Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City.

From what I've read on SS.com, Peter Storrie sugests that the bid is from a CL side.

Sounds like a city bid to me. If i were chelsea i wouldnt swap johnson for bosingwa. Liverpool have no money and arsenal wont spend that much. I wouldnt be suprised if united want him. I think either chelsea, city, united

We have three players who can cover the right back berth: Richards, Onuoha and Zabaleta. I'm more interested in bringing in a top Centre Back: Upson or Hangeland for Premiership experience or Metzelder for European.
