WOW - Man City Moments Away From Eto'o Deal

Vital Manchester City understands Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o is on the verge of signing a five-year Eastlands deal.

Our source, who incidentally told us way back in November 2008 that City were showing an interest in the 28-year-old believes a deal is close to completion.

Reports in the national press suggest the Cameroon international has told officials he is happy to sign, however figures of an estimated £1 million a month after tax salary are believed to be slightly exaggerated with £200,000 a week being more realistic.

Barca president Joan Laporta told the press...

"A lot of clubs would like Eto'o in their team. We will do our best in order to renew his contract, because, in my opinion, he is the best striker in the world. But we have a wage structure that we will respect."

"We'd like to renew the contract with Eto'o but not at any price. In this global economic crisis, we have to be an example as well. I hope he understands and we will see in the next weeks."

Chelsea fan in peace! The more I look at your squad on paper the more impressed I become. I think Barry is going to have a massive impact on your side. And with a potential attack of Robinho and Eto'o, you will certainly raise a few eyebrows amongst the league. You guys just need to touch up your defence and once you do that, you've got the foundations for a top 4 challenging side. Good luck :)

eto'o today, tevez tomorrow... things are looking awfully Sky Blue this year...

Wow ... if it were true it would put this type of transfer deal 12 months ahead of the schedule I thought we could achieve .... however I remain slightly cynical until it is confirmed. It would be great news though as we certainly would be marking out our territory and if then we could get Tevez plus two central defenders we would be on the way. However feet on the ground as rumours are just that....rumours ... and the world abounds with them

bloody hell there isnt any foundation for this story and you said that he would sign last transfer window did you say ? well why didnt he then ? forget tevez aswell hes staying with the rags ive told you.

Eto'o is almost certainly leaving after Barcelona opened negotiations with Valencia over David Villa. Whether or not he will be joining City is a different matter entirely, as other sources are reporting he rebuffed a 160k a week contract to sign with us.

I'd love it to be true, but...didn't "a source" tell Vital Man City that Eto'o had signed in January? Sorry, but I'll believe it when the official site says it's true.

I don't sleep with my source - I have to trust their word. The same person gave me the Eto'o info last year (yes we broke the story) but nothing is certain until Eto'o actually puts pen to paper. He's only human and can and may change his mind right up until the last minute.

I wouldnt be suprised if eto came, but il believe it when i see it. Alot depends with the transfer merry-go-rounds and polictics. If villa goes barca, then city have a good chance- but so do inter milan :( We should pay eto what ever he wants, in my opinion he is better than kaka.

Well its about time you started sleeping with your sources Tudor! get out the scented candles, think of England and glean some more info, it's your duty man!

So how many of you were in Barcelona celebrating their CL win? I hope you enjoyed it because well......thats the closest you're ever going to get to celebrating a trophy win! And stop embarrassing yourselves with these insane rumors! Tevez, you can have but please stop trying to run faster than your shadows.

I still have my fingers crossed that Eto'o will be a City player... Join the revolution! Manchester is BLUE.
