19 June 2009 - 17.10 Major breaking news from the Premier League as Sky Sports News understands that Manchester City have agreed a fee with Blackburn for long-term target Roque Santa Cruz. The Eastlands outfit are reported to be shelling out £18million to land the Paraguay international.

When I see transfer fees like this for good but not great players, it amazes me how the hell we got Arshavin for under 17 million last February. So, Roque's first EPL game for City might be at Blackburn? Thats funny.

This signing is one of two things. It could be a masterstroke by Hughes to bring a gifted central striker into the City fold who is capable of more than 15 goals each season. Or it could be a very serious mistake -- a realisation by a manager that he isn't the man for such a big job -- so he will surround himself by friends to buy time. I do not know which it is. I hope Santa Cruz will deliver for City. If he doesn't I fear Hughes will pay the price. He's made his decision and we will all now see the results of it.

Sindbad I think he will deliver, if he pases a medical, it will be one that shows he has no long lasting injury. We know he can score goals and will do so for us.
