'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Brace Yourselves Blues!

The coming first few days of July could prove pivotal in City's summer of change as Europe's transfer rollercoaster gathers speed...

Contracts will be expiring left, right and centre. Footballers will be being escorted from beaches by their agents and certain managers will be tapping up and I don't mean getting in a bit of plumbing.

SportCity is likely to see some frenzied activity, ideally before pre season training starts. Off the park, things could not be running more smoothly as the club's first summer of relative stability in a long while has realised previously unthinkable sponsorship and kit deals while almost all aspects of MCFC receive an overhaul.

Back at Carrington and there's going to be an unprecedented offload from the City squad. We all know who the usual, much debated here hopelessly ineffective suspects are. Yet, their could also be one or two contentious departures. City stalwart Richard Dunne could be leaving after a wretched last season if the rumours of Mark Hughes' targeting of Everton and England's Joleon Lescott are proved to be factual. Elano is quiet right now but few Blues would be surprised were he to also depart.

But it's incoming personnel where of course most of Planet Blue's focus will be centered upon this week.

Should the Blues confirm that the rags have lost another large source of goals while at the same time demoralising and silencing swamp dwellers who have been shrieking 'Argentina' for most of last season, it will be all too beautiful if Carlos Tevez joins the revolution.

Then there's rag Euro dream nemesis Samuel Eto'o. The hacks keep returning to this story and demented wage rumours aside, we can only deal in facts and the City hierarchy's meetings with Barcelona earlier this year will not have been to exchange catering menu's.

Lescott aside, Kolo Toure is another fine player whose name remains linked with the resurgent Blues.

We'll see, but outside of the tatering they received at the hands of AC Milan's boardroom over the lesson learned that was Kakagate, City's dignified owners have a stealth bomber approach to their business dealings as the out of the Blue signing of Gareth Barry again showed.

This means we can never rule out the unexpected but one thing we can be sure of is that an undeniably stronger Manchester City will be taking the field at Blackburn in August. A mouthwatering prospect.

Bring it on and brace yourselves!

The rags must be getting seriously edgy.

TRANSFER NEWS: Barcelona have accepted our bid for Samuel Eto'o. City are currently in negotiations with Eto'o's lawyer over contract terms. NOTW have jumped the gun stating Eto'o has already agreed to join us this morning. Eto'o is a strange character, it could go either way. These facts were confirmed last night in a radio interview by Joan Laporta the President of FC Barcelona. Exciting times indeed.

Get them signed up in time for pre-season training and watch us scare the **** out of the rest of the premier league next season. We are looking seriously tasty!

I was living in Barcelona for a few months and took a small laptop with me. I just could not log on the Vital site. When I got back to the UK I was still logged on with the computer at home - very weird. Though, it did not stop me reading and enjoying all the postings as normal.
