Aah! Another Galatico off your list then!
**** off merlin, if your a rag then "michael owen" if your a scouser then "glen johnson" if your chelsea then "daniel sturridge" if your outside these three then your opion really isnt worth the k/bs that your comment takes up on this weblog. not one club outside madrid can say they are in the market for galactico's and them kind of comments from p**ks like you show resentment, bitterness and reeks of jealousy.
oh and just to add, we broke off negotiations, not eto'o...
So The Mirror hack was spot on with his 24 hour ultimatum. Well played City in calling this off. It was getting messy and the way he has been dealing with Barça is reminiscent of the trouble he cause them a season or so ago. A luxury knocked off the list and we move on. Get hold of Tevez and stick with what we have Hughesy. The Boj is champing at the bit!

you guys are a little slow, this news broke on city blog within seconds of the city site announcing it, come on guys, catch up :p haha, only messing, good work.
His goals would have been nice, but you have to ask why Barca and especially the coach Pep Gladallover, were so eager to get shut of such a prolific marksman. Troublemaker in the dressing room?
They've had a lot of trouble off him before last season's "amnesty," Jack. I'd settle for Tevez and the options we have now outside of Benjani who can go south.

my shout:glad we broke off talks.eto'o,had he come, would have come for all the wrong reasons.a massive paycheck and because barca wanted him out.lets concentrate on getting tevez in and draw a line under the eto'o story.
spot on JB and McIrish. Eto'o was obviously using us to attract what he thought would be better bids from other clubs, which haven't materialised. £25m for a player in his last year of contract was OTT and Barca were desperate for the money to get Villa.Who is next on the list?
Buzz Lightyear
All good - Mr Eto'o will regret that decision but judging by his undoubted arrogance, he'll never admit it. After the initital umming and arring its right to pull the plug as he would have damaged the dressing room and rapport with the fans. We need to maintain our dignity. Well done Garry Cook.
to be honest im glad its happened before we signed him as if we did sign him this could have spelt trouble in our dressing room. we now move on.
Mike Hunt
Is this a 'counter bluff' from City? Where does Eto'o and Barca go from here.
The fact that he has stuffed around for so long tells me that his heart wasn't in a move to City and that maybe he was looking around at other possible options. I also think that he didn't have anymore offers from anyone and that he'll probably end up seeing out the last year of his contract coming of the bench to spell Villa.
Shame, but the management has my 100% support in pulling out. We cannot be held to ransom by Galactico players around Europe. There are plenty of other opportunities to follow. And we have the Boj anyway, right? I hope the corollary to this is that Tevez will sign early next week and there will be progress on strengthening the defence.
Eto would have set city alight if he joined. As it stands we dont have a 20 goal season striker at city - even if tevez signed, he isnt a goal scorer. Hopefully city have other options now. We were correct to end the deal, as eto was playing a game between barca/city and trying to attract other clubs. I feel citys bid for top players would have been completed sooner if we had a big name manager.
enzo city
it smacks of(on a lower scale admittedly) of the barton transfer where he wanted a percentage of the fee to go and ultimately they ended paying it on top of the fee... and possibly Eto'o trying to get the rags involved or someone similar... but it could still happen as Barca are keen to do business so they can get Villa... so its watch this space as its early days in the window....
Another day, another snub... why on earth do you need another striker? You've got plenty as is..
