Richards Thought He Had Alcohol Poisoning

Manchester City defender Micah Richards is due to fly home from an extended stay in Cyprus today (Sunday) after it emerged the 21-year-old had Swine Flu.

He told The Sun...

'At first I thought it was a really bad chest infection, or maybe alcohol poisoning. I felt so weak I couldn't move or eat.'

'When I was told I had swine flu, all sorts of things started going through my mind. You see on the news people dying of it.'

Thankfully his Tamiflu medication appears to have worked, however why would he think he had alcohol poisoning?

Micah was staying in a five-star hotel near the resort of Ayia Napa, the clubbing paradise for many, therefore might I suggest the local Keo lager, the brandy sours and the Meze's got the better of him.

Hope you enjoyed the sun, sea and surf Micah?

I've already kinda said this on the forums, but, I am not against players having a drink or two (particularly in the off-season). However, for Richards to actually think he might have alcohol poisoning, he must have gone for a swim in the stuff - methinks that when MH sees him, he is gonna have his ass handed to him in a bucket.

why have you got to have loads of beer to get alcohol poisoning? you can get it from half a pint as much as loads of beer so i hope people lay off micah because he suffered enough abuse last season.

alochol poisoning - what a p*ss head he must have been!

Sorry MH - that was the impression I was under, I have had times when I have had copious amounts of alcohol and not suffered from alcohol poisoning. As for last year, he was not his best you have to agree, but if anyone thinks he should be gotten rid of, should really think again.
