Tevez: I Hope To Win Many More Trophies With City

Carlos Tevez signed a 5-year contract for Manchester City in a £25m transfer and will wear the number 32 shirt.

The Argentinian insisted that he can help City lift the Barclays Premier League trophy and for the first time since signing for City, Tevez told Sportsmail: 'The manager and the owners are very ambitious and that became clear to me the first time we spoke.

'This is the chance to be involved from the start, an opportunity to help build a special experience.

'I hope to win many more trophies with City, there is a great feeling of excitement around the club. Look at the quality of the players who have been signed and the prospect of other top-quality players coming, too. Things are happening at this club.

'The owners made it clear to me that they will be doing everything in their power to make this an extraordinary club to play for. I look forward to being part of that experience.

'Mark Hughes played in my position for some of the biggest clubs in the world and understands the demands and pressure of playing as a striker. I look forward to learning from him.

'My record of success speaks for itself. From helping West Ham to avoid relegation to helping Manchester United to two Champions League finals in two seasons. That's not a bad record!

'This is a new adventure for me and I thank the people who have made this possible.'

Tevez will join Roque Santa Cruz, Gareth Barry and Stuart Taylor as City's latest recruits this summer ahead of what promises to be an exciting season at Eastlands as Manchester City look to break the 'big 4'.

We are heading in the right direction. The quality of players coming to City is really something even though we don't have a comp in Europe to offer. Just think what players we could attract if we had that option. Welcome to the Club Carlos.

Katiedawson - I thought he wasn't good enough for you and you never wanted him in the first place? Still, could be worse, you still have mikey owen and berbaflop. P.S. I'd persoanlly like to thank Malcolm Glazer for bankrupting United and making this transfer possible, he really is a true Blue. Much like Tevez really!

Typical City! We go out and build one of the most devastating attacking forces in world football, and then we'll go and throw it all away by slaughtering Manyoo at the Swamp in September... Typical! Look out Big 4, there's going to be a re-shuffle and you aren't going to like it.

They don't like it up 'em.

BBC Bulletin today says Tevez has left Manchester United to join "Manchester United." Schoolboy error!
