UAE Friendly And Winter Training Ground Announced

Manchester City have announced that they will face the UAE national team in a friendly match on November 12th at the Zayed Stadium.

Rashid Zaabi, chairman of the Marketing, Media and PR Committee for the UAE FA announced: 'This is a wonderful opportunity for the national side and one that will provide a high calibre test for our squad.'

Manchester City CEO Garry Cook and the general secretary of the UAE FA Yousuf Abdullah, agreed the fixture on Thursday during City's visit to promote the teams brand new kit.

During the visit, Manchester City's official winter training ground was announced as the magnificent Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, although currently its international standard football pitch is still undergoing development.

Garry Cook stated: 'With a growing and enthusiastic fan base in the UAE, we look forward to a friendly in Abu Dhabi in November.'

'The club feels an obvious kinship with the city, and this game is another way for us to interact with the community at a grassroots level.'

He continued: 'We are proud to claim Emirates Palace - this first class facility and one of the most extraordinary hotels ever built - as our official winter training headquarters.'

Fancy having the only 7 star hotel in the world as your training camp. Come a long way since Malcom Allison had them training in Wythenshawe Park all those years ago lol.

So you'll only have to go to Abu Dhabi to train during the winter? I hope that ole uncle Nahyan is planning on buying all of your boys private jets in order to make the sessions.
