Who do people rate Man City so highly? Your players are not better than the top four, not even close. Do Ireland, Robinho, Barry, Wright-Phillips, Toure, Tevez and Adebayor really compare to Fabregas, Arshavin, Denilson, Rosicky, Gallas, van Persie and Eduardo? I don't think so. Toure left and we replaced him with Vermaelen, Adebayor left and Eduardo has replaced him. We have also added Rosicky, and we will add a few more players before the window ends.

Two American ESPN pundits predict Arsenal's demise... terrifying...

I would love it, just love it if Arsenal finished outside the top 4. Perhaps it might be us, who knows, but it's on the cards, mark my words.
tudor
We didn't "lose" Toure and Adebayor, we sold them because they were surplus to requirements at the club. Just get off the media bandwagon tha requiers no thought for one second and ask yourself is City's squad really as good as ours? Honestly. Thought not. We won't just be in the top 4 this season but we'll surprise all these "experts" by doing a lot better than they all seem to predict. This Arsenal side is only going up, I promise you that.
TheBoyInRed&White
Aston villa will be closer to the top 4 this season not City
ajwb
i was wondering how long it would take to get tom back over here spouting off that Arsenal hasn't lost 2 (3 by friday) quality players and that their team has MORE than enough depth to survive in the top 4 this season... You kids... *shakes head*
severedgein
tom 14 what a silly quote i am not a biased city fan at all but i would not swap robinho ireland or tevez for any of them players even though they are very good the gulf in class last year was huge this year it isnt.i do not believe we will finish top 4 this maybe 10 points short.Chelsea will be the team to beat this year second spot is a three horse race, but i do believe this year we will hit 67 points
humpty
p.s. that picture looks like a scene out of The Shawshank Redemption...

Spurs lad here i love the way the scum fans come on here defending their team yes you did sell toure yes you sold adebayor but they wanted out so you cashed in id also say that these are two players that help keep you in the top 4 last season the Man city midfield is now superior to yours with barry to be dm hes way better than the crap denilson **** even jenas runs over that little crap S**t and thats Jenas were talking about!!! id have Robinho over any attack minded midfielder lets say Rosicky!!Wright-philips is quality tevez can also play from mid or behind the striker as van persie does again id take tevez the mans work rate is outstanding and scores more than van persie that leaves fabrigas and yep he is quality and not many get the nod over him as for Eduardo was looking great until his nasty ankle break and so its a always a worry that he wont come back the same player. so in a nutshell comparing these players yes man city do have a better team question is how will they gel if its quick i think you boys will be more than a serious threat to the top 4 and the demise of the scum crikey u boys would be my 2nd fav team haha.
only 1 spurs
we'd better finish above Aston Villa - they hardly won any games in the second half of last season and ain't that special, they lost 2-0 to Oxford tonight for gods sake, Everton and Spurs should be the main competition
arthur7171
Villa haha half a season job they are no threat to top 4 i dont think we are either everton have hardly strengthened infact when lescott joins u guys they are replacing him with dopey senderos WTF!!! lol.
only 1 spurs
"tevez the mans work rate is outstanding and scores more than van persie." Errrrm, you might want to check their respective goalscoring stats from last season. There's a good boy. As for the "will City replace Arsenal" debate, who cares? It's all academic until the season starts, that's when we'll see. Personally, I'm not worried for this season, but City will inevitably break through at some stage though. As for Jenas *****s on Denilson, well Denilson attempts more tackles than Jenas, wins more, has more interceptions than Jenas (and indeed more than any player in the league), scored more goals than Jenas, provided more assists than Jenas, attempts more passes and has a better passing accuracy (he outshines most midfielders in the league in all of those categories actually). Check the opta "only 1 spurs", it renders your argument pretty unconvincing. If you actually bother to watch Denilson play, you realise how decent he is.
Little Dutch
"i would not swap robinho ireland or tevez for any of them players" - Mate, you would not swap Ireland for Fabregas, Robinho for Arshavin or Tevez for van Persie or Eduardo. Get a grip crazy fool.
Tom14
decent yeah great no and what im saying is player for player City have a better team no matter how u throw opta facts new season new blank canvas.....and a new era you are no longer the big team you were no trophey for what 4 seasons now???
only 1 spurs
tom 14 robinho for arshavin think you should get a grip different class my friend
humpty
ggggggggo City! If only to end the media love affair with Wenger and his kids despite only 1 flukey fa cup win in 6 years.
HuddersfieldYiddo
"player for player City have a better team" - that is clearly not true. Almunia is at least as good as Given, our fullbacks are much better, Gallas and Vermaelen are better than Toure and Lescott, Fabregas, Denilson and Rosicky are more than a match for whatever middle three you have and Arshavin, Eduardo and van Persie is better than any front three you can choose.
Tom14
'Almunia is at least as good as Given'... What are you talking about? 'Vermaelen better than Toure'... Again, what are you talking about? Have you even seen him play a single game yet? Proper Joker.
eighthsin
it is easier said than done. good luck with your season but people talk alot just to find out later that beating arsenal is easier said than done. yes u beat us three zero at ur homeground but if you want to be honest with yourself, citeh beat a very injury plagued and leaderless team. thats why we stuffed citeh 2-0 and thoroughly outplayed them at the emirates when we had a close to full squad available. if there is any citeh fan honest honest with himself would not gloat . nways we arsenal fans are used to sp*rs buying players and then say they are going to beat arsenal, becarefull you dont end up like the sp*rs when they realise that beating arsenal is EASIER SAID THAN DONE!!!!
akenyangunner
Humpty I agree, The target is top 6, with an outside chance of top 4. This is a new team agsin this season and the team will have to bond quickly to have a good start. Arsenal are and always will be one of the top team in England, but When they lost to City 3-0 last season who can understand why people are predicting their demise.
Buzz Lightyear
Here's the problem you Arsenal fans, you are without doubt the weakest of the top four (if you weren't, you'd consistently finish above the other three), so it is bleedin' obvious that everyone and his dog is going to say you are the most under threat from City. You do have a good squad, you do have some exceptional players, but so does City. Why do you think that there isn't any thread/article about how City may take one of the other three teams places? Because your club is the weakest of the four. This sort of conversation will continue for months until one of us is proved right - just remember this though, Man City have officially stated that they are after a top six finish. So if we only end up fifth or sixth, do not come here and say "I told you so", because we never said we'd take your spot in the first place.
BlueWolfie
eighthsin, all of my comments are true. Almunia IS at least as good as Given, and judging by pre-season (I have actually seen Vermaelen play you see) our new No.5 is better than the old one.
Tom14
Tom14 your a funny guy given is one of the finest goalkeepers in the world you plumb hes way better than almunia, according to you every single arsenal player is better than any city player lols? robinho is way better than anything you have i think you need to wake up lad and smell the coffee and maybe take them biased blinkered goggles off you are wearing, i for one hope it is arsenal that falls out of the top4 i cant stand the constant whine of wenger and and the papers banging on about 'arsenals kids' who have won nothin worth of note for years!
mark.mcfc.wedged
You are telling me that Robinho is "way better" than Arshavin, Eduardo and Fabregas, but I need to take the blinkers off? Mate, I have said it a few times on this site that Arshavin is in the top 5 players in the world, he literally ****s on Robinho as a footballer. It is not even worth a debate to be honest. Almunia had a better shot to save ratio than Given last year and commands his area a lot better than the Irishman. Given is class, but so is Almunia. If you go through our first team, we are better than you player forplayer. Almunia > Given, Sagna > Zabaleta, Gallas > Toure, Vermaelen ? Lescott, Clichy > Bridge, Fabregas > Barry, Denilson > De Jong, Rosicky - Ireland, Arshavin > Robinho, Eduardo > Adebayor, van Persie > Wright Phillips (433 formation)
Tom14
I'll lay a tenner on Arsneal finishing above you lot!
merlin
There isnt even a team called 'Arsneal', tenner please Merlin!
eighthsin
I hope you enjoyed your 2.5 hours at the top of the table- it's all downhill from there.
