'If It's Football, It's Vital'

City To London For First Carling Cup Mission

The Blues will play their third competitive game of the season at Crystal Palace in the second round of the Carling Cup...

Hatstand, shouty Yorkshire gaffer Neil Warnock will certainly ensure that the contest won't be dull and there will be plenty of seat shifting from edgy Blues recalling last season's excruciating exit at Brighton.

Championship Palace have a young side and Warnock said pre season that he is intending to 'prove people wrong.'

City, regardless of our newfound options will have to be on our guard.

The tie will be played week beginning 24th August. Date to be confirmed.

City have to know after last season that you can't underestimate teams in FA Cup and Carling Cup games. We were summarily booted out of both UK Cups last season by teams from lower divisions. We have no UEFA games to chase so the domestic cups are very important to us this season.
Sindbad
Warnocks a tricky customer and it wont be easy, but I expect with no European matches for us this season I dont see why we cant send a very strong team to do the business with no fuss.
Buzz Lightyear
It'll be interesting to see where City's priorities lie. Last season's abysmal domestic Cup runs left a bad taste. I cannot understand why the Carling Cup is considered unimportant!?
Old Mother Hell
Nice of Sky Sports to put us on live TV - They must be expecting an upset! We seriously need at least one cup run this season.
