'If It's Football, It's Vital'

City Plan Wolves Crowd Berserker

City's first home game of the season against Wulverampton Wunderers is set to realise a record breaking attendance at Eastlands for an opening home fixture...

City's hierarchy, mindful of everyone connected with the club's incentive to get the campaign off to the strongest possible start are again pulling out the stops to get the stadium buzzing.

The Blues board, on the back of this season's admission reductions and price freezes have ensured that Eastlands has had a summer makeover in a bid to enhance the match day experience.

In an official call-to-bananas today, the club announced:

'The club is determined to make the start of the new home campaign a memorable one for all concerned so setting the tone for the rest of the season.

'The first game of this season should be like no-other and we aim to make it memorable so bring along the flags and the inflatables.

'Our purpose is to make a statement that the City of Manchester Stadium' is unrivalled within the Premier League and beyond for delivering the best match-day experience

'To mark the occasion we are producing a 'Welcome to Manchester' flag and the PA and Matchday screens will be 'Welcome' focused.'

- If Eastlands rocks on Saturday the way it did against Hamburg in last season's do or die Euro clash, the Wolves players knees will be knocking together by the time they take the field, I can tell you.

This is the game where City can provide a real exhibition of their potential. Tevez should be fit to start so we may have Adebayor and Carlos leading the line with Bellamy on the bench. Please Hughes, make it an out-and-out attacking display. Given, Zabaleta, Toure, Onuoha, Bridge, Barry, SWP, Ireland, Robinho, Adebayor, Tevez.

Sindbad, i couldn't have put it any better mate... Best line-up right there. Let's set the scoring record for the entire season eh? 11-0 sound good to everyone? jump to first in the table with a handy GD to boot? thought so...
severedgein
There is no reason whatsoever why this game shouldn't end in a complete pasting for Wolves.
BlueWolfie
It's got an absolute tatering written all over it hasn't it? There are still a few unpleasant memories knocking around of our trips to Wolves around the turn of the decade. I well recall how they were our big promotion rivals at one stage. Their star striker is knacked by the way. Be interesting to see how they go on against the Pie Tasters tonight.
Johnny Baguette
I like Mick Mccarthy, but I do think he has an uphill task to keep Wolves in the premier. It certainly wont be at our expense and I wish them the best of luck tonight.
Buzz Lightyear
Wolves have had a good win at Wigan tonight so I am even more confident that we will win on Saturday and am glad that we now can't be Wolves 1st top flight scalp for the 2nd time running following our 1-0 defeat at Molineux the last time they were in the Prem.
