It appears that he hasn't actually spoken to them yet. Paul Hart is supposed to have admitted that he is on his list of targets at Portsmouth after todays match so we have at least 2 chances to get shot of him before the end of the transfer window.

If he goes how much do you think we'll get, £2million?
tudor
Looks like it's Phil Permatan Brown v Fat Samuel at Blackburn for his signature?

"before the end of the tranfer window" - you should know, that the transfer window can not stop benji mooving on...
pompeycarpet
Tudor - £2 million would be a decent estimate as I'd think that we'd be unlikely to get anymore. By selling him we will also avoid having to pay anywhere up to another £3.87 million based on appearances, as that is what we paid up front for him with the same amount dependent on appearances and he hasn't activated any of these additional clauses so far.
Kevinho
It would be a good deal all round if we could get him away but will he prepared to accept a lower wage?
Wswilly3
Sold to the man with the tan £2 million " Sharp intake of breath " go on then, Oh would you be interested in our summer special buy one get Ben Haim free promotion
SIR TROYSTER
Pompey, Blackburn and Hull all rumoured to be interested. Please god let it be true! Benjani has talent, but not enough to dislodge Adebayor, Tevez, Robinho, RSC or Bellamy, and he never really wanted to be a Citizen (and it showed!). If there is any justice in this world, he'll end up back at Pompey, a team that he loves and where the fans love him. Goodbye Benji, thanks for the shoulder at the swamp, but I won't especially miss you.

P.S. Please take Ben Haim with you in that taxi eh Benji?
fifthcolumnblue
Nice one Sir Troyster - I was thinking along the same lines earlier myself.
Kevinho
Phil Browns favourite number is 2m so fair bet for the fee, personally a free transfer would be preferable and further fee based on goals scored for the rest of the season, so eventual fee would be £0.

Thanks for the Derby goal Benjani. If you'd been able to keep fit -- things could well have been different. That's assuming you're going. On the other hand if you're fit and hungry... Good luck whatever happens. Any player can have an injury.
Sindbad
just been announced onSSN tha tthe deal has brke down due to benji's wage demands.... you could'nt make it up can you? and they say that footballers would rather play football on a saturday than sit at home/ berti and earn a fortune.... one greedy b'stard...
cityman51
Well I wouldn't be keen on playing for Phil Brown or Hull City who are definitely going down either. I still expect him to be gone when Portsmouth come calling.
Kevinho
At least he would get games at Hull, but perhaps we are paying Benjani too much and thats why he wants to stay and get paid for not playing, rather than half the wages and have to work for a living.
buzz lightyear
Well apparently if he goes it will now only be on loan as he will be unable to get a new work permit before the window shuts. A loan move is possible as the work permit just gets transferred.
Kevinho
Silly Benji! Youc could have returned to Pompey, but now you're stuck in our reserves (OK, work permit probs not really your fault), but you always seem to miss the boat (Plane?!). Hope you get a decent club in January, cause you're unlikely to ever play for City again.
