City's Four Lions!

City's Four Lions!

It's unprecedented since the days of Joe Corrigan, Mike Doyle, Dave Watson and Joe Royle. City have four players in the latest England squad...

Shaun Wright-Phillips, Joleon Lescott, Wayne Bridge and Gareth Barry have all been selected in Fabio Capello's squad for the friendly against Slovenia on 5th September and the World Cup Qualifier against Croatia on 9th September.

The Squad: Foster (Manchester United), Green (West Ham), Robinson (Blackburn), Johnson (Liverpool), Brown (Manchester United), Upson (West Ham), Terry (Chelsea, capt), Lescott (Manchester City), A Cole (Chelsea), Bridge (Manchester City), Wright-Phillips (Manchester City), Lennon (Tottenham), Beckham (Los Angeles Galaxy), Barry (Manchester City), Lampard (Chelsea), Carrick (Manchester United), Gerrard (Liverpool), A Young (Aston Villa), Milner (Aston Villa), Rooney (Manchester United), Heskey (Aston Villa), Defoe (Tottenham), C Cole (West Ham), Crouch (Tottenham).

The feel good factor surrounding City's winning start to the season is sure to be enhanced by this latest piece of good news.

Who knows, if we consider England Under 21 Internationals Joe Hart, Micah Richards and Nedum Onuoha's development, there could well be as many as seven Blues vying for England senior squad caps in the near future!

No Manchester City player has ever won a World Cup Winners Medal. Wouldn't it be FANTASTIC for three of those medals to be won by Blues ?

Its a pity that Joe Hart didn't get the call. Two clean sheets and only conceded one against The Rags, unlucky or what.

Buzz - Joe Hart would be more deserving of a place than Robinson or Foster IMO.
