Dunne Deal Delayed Despite Deadline Demise

Sky Sports have been mithering Premier League officials as to what is going off over the as yet unconfirmed departure of Richard Dunne for Aston Villa...

The answer they are running with is that all the neccessary paperwork including a farewell pay off from City to our erstwhile legendary Captain was done and dusted by the 5pm BST deadline which means it can still go through, it says here.

Once again, somebody somewhere got a bit of merde stirring going over City offering the Big Irishman a derisory pay off. As with the Petrov saga earlier in the day, we can expect some sort of clarity from elsewhere over the next 24 hours.

More as and when we get it...

...and beat that headline, back page eds.

I love the headline, it's catchy and easy to remember! Or something...

WE will find out as JB rightly says, that we will soon know who snubbed City. The usual merde, JB.

I expect this move to be rubberstamped by lunchtime tomorrow, just like when Sven signed Benjani back in January 2008 after the move took longer to be confirmed.

I don't usually venture on to other clubs pages (I'm a Villa fan) but I can't resist a good bit of alliteration!! Lovin your work JB. I hope this goes through. Swap your captain for ours!?!

You'll see some really spectacular goals from Dunney, unfortunately usually at the wrong end.
