Video: Should Adebayor Have Been Sent Off Poll?

Vital Manchester City is running a forum poll in which we ask...

'Video Evidence: Should Emmanuel Adabayor Have Been Sent Off?'

Following Emmanuel Adebayor's so-called stamping incident against his former team-mate, Robin van Persie, should match referee Mark Clattenburg have shown Ade an immediate red card.

It seems to me Ade was trying to avoid Van Persie rather than anything malicious. As usual, the media have picked on Ade simply because he is a high profile player. Anyway, why would he want to hurt anyone?

RVP slide in two footed "to do" adebayor, adebayor was quick footed, RVP missed and slided ahead of adebayor, under his feet. Adebayors momentum forced him forward and it was impossible to place his feet away from RVP head. Hence the contact with RVP cheek. The irony is - if RVP didnt go in two footed to hurt adebayor (RVP released a statement claiming hes never had the intention to hurt fellow professionals......) his head wouldnt be placed in that situation. Adebayor didnt deserve to be sent of and arsenal fans acted like animals when adebayor celebrated on the pitch, without gesturing to the fans. Unlike RVP how ran of the pitch to the fans and unleased a mouth full of expletives to city fans. Who didnt react. Adebayor did no wrong doing.

disagree Tudor, as a total neutral van persie should possibly have had a red for his tackle but ade was a disgrace, no way was that not meant. I hope he gets in trouble for that, they all have to learn you cannot get away with filth like that.

Think you are way off enzo, ALL fans would have behaved like that if taunted the way they were, including your lot, my lot and any other lot. Not saying it is right, but that is what happens. Abe should have known better and Hughes should have lambasted him for it. Then again, Hughes was a dirty player and is a dirty manager as I told him at Villa Park last season, he didn't like it much to be honest! :o)

I look forward to the Arsenal fans who were singing racist abuse all game long to be found by the police and receive similar bans to the Spurs fans who had a go at Sol Campbell last season. A large number of these Arsenal 'fans' went to the game yesterday with the intention of barracking and abusing Adebayor after being stirred up by certain elements of the media all week long rather than to support their own team and they got exactly what they wanted. All the negative press rather covers over the fact that they also lost the match.

It was NOT deliberate. Video from a different angle clearly show that.

If the F.A. do decide to punish Ade in some way I hope they give at least the same to van Persie, had he not gone in with a two footed challenge as he did the incident would not have occured. As for the goal celebration - brilliant, the arse fans wanted rid of him and he showed them what he thought of their treatment of him. Oh, I havn't actually checked but I don't think Arsen Whinger has complained about anything other than his own team. de
