Come & Have A Go If You Think You're Hard Enough

Vital Manchester City regular, mcfcirish sent us the following:

Manchester City 4-Arsenal 2: How many in the media would have predicted that score line first thing Saturday morning?

On Sky TV`s 'Soccer Special' the pundits certainly didn't, with only one going for a draw and the rest going for an away win. City 'needed time to gel' apparently! Well the way it looked to me City have gelled since their trip to the Nou Camp.

Of course a lot of the media's attention was focused post match on Adebayor's goal celebration and the alleged stamp on Robin van Persie. No mind paid to the fact that Adebayor had received appalling abuse for the whole match.

Also ignored was the language van Persie used towards City fans after his goal. (although van Persie does that every time he scores - baring his chest and the 'F' word flowing freely from his mouth).

The majority of Arsenal fans had gone to enjoy what turned out to be a fantastic game of football, however an awful lot more had gone with the intention of causing trouble by being as hostile and abusive towards Addey as possible. Once the goal was scored the 'spark of fury' was lit.

Ade wanted to make his feelings about the last 18 months known and so did the Gunners fans. Hundreds of them streamed forward, baying for blood, crushing those in front of them. Addey did not curse, swear or make a gesture. The bloke just stood there before Shay Given ushered him away.

And now the FA want to punish him for 'enticing the crowd'! Now I'm not for players punching and kicking the crowd...did you hear that Cantona...but players should be allowed can I put it...'stick it' to the crowd. Its BANTER FA not incitement, not violence, kissing a badge and doing a slide hurts NOBODY.

If the FA continue to punish players and let fans off for this kind of behaviour then it will only breed more trouble and add another feather to the PC brigades hat.

Oh and by the way to those in the anti-City brigade, Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough? But it sounds to me like you all for giving but are too scared to take it.

Let the battle begin.

the only way to bring a great empire down is to undermine it and thats certainly what the top4 fulled press are trying to do to city along with splatter and prat, what we do is take it on the chin and come out fighting, so what if they ban him or kick him out of the game they will never brake us "CITY" they will never have the passion we have, they are scared because they know we have the potential to be as big as any other club in the world, they look at us and think they won nowt for 35 years but still get 45k fans everygame so they know that when we actually do win something it will be the start of an avalaunch of silverware and the top4 fulled press just dont like it (its like the top4 has closed ranks this season and they are playing it amongst themselfs to make sure they stay the top4)

Fair play McfcIrish, great article. Shay's reaction summed it up for me, the big man was laughing his ass off as he ushered Adebayor away exactly what I was doing when I saw the celebration.

As a neutral I found it a cracking game and the fact that Ade celebrated in front of the arsenal fans was fair game to me, as long as he celebrates on the pitch and does not get into the stands (I’m looking at you Cantona) its all good. However saying the kick was not on purpose as most City fans have been saying is a joke and makes your lot look bad, he clearly meant it and every fan outside of City I have spoken to feels that way and I’m sure the FA will also see it as a deliberate act.

You've got to factor in the abuse he was getting and the fact that Van Persie's challeng was a bad one. He reacted badly and will certainly get banned. We just want the FA to get on with it so we can plan for the rags.

With our main strikers injured JB, I would like a persona; hearing so we can get at least one m0re game out of Ade, and hope that the ban is not too severe.
