I Detest Manchester United, But I Am Confused

Vital Manchester City regular, BlueWolfie sent us the following:

The Manchester Derby Build-Up Begins...

I find myself a little confused, and somewhat disturbed (more so than normal, I mean). As a (virtually) life-long City fan, I detest Manchester United; it is expected of me. I understand that and I am more than quite happy with it.

But let's take Wayne Rooney for example, I know virtually nothing about the man - and neither do I care about knowing anything either. Good player? Yes. Goal scorer? Yes. Total and utter git? Oh, definitely. But no sooner does he put on an England shirt, and I sit there awaiting with baited breath for him to receive a beautiful through ball (hopefully from a City player, because that's always nice), that he then latches onto, and promptly puts it in the back of the opposing net.

See what I am getting at here? It's not him personally, it's the United shirt, the club, the fans, and the bull-crap statements that he and the club makes.

I want to see him and them fail on an apocalyptic scale, where women and children are crying, and cats and dogs are mating. However, as I said, swap his shirt to that of the Three Lions, and my position changes somewhat. But not to the extent that I would consider having a replica England shirt, with his name on the back. Which of course, brings me back around to the beginning of this article, in that I am confused and disturbed.

Do I need help? Quite possibly so, but then it doesn't keep me up at night, so I reckon I'll be okay.

a prime example of this is bellemy now you cant say that we all didnt hate him 12 months ago, but now we would kiss the welsh little git lols esp if he scores the winner on sunday, and thats because hes our bellemy, but if we was to sell him we would hate him again within 2 months

Just count your lucky stars you're not a Togolese Arsenal fan BW.

Though i'm a city fan, I don't like it when he's not available for England!! I just think they have no chance without him. I would never boo him in an England shirt. Thats why i have never been nor will ever go to watch England live, I just know I'll end up rolling around with some d-i-c-k England fan when they start with the booing and obscene chants when a stray pass happens. I also detest when they sing the stupid national anthem halfway through.

I detest Man Utd as much as you but I do not detest every one of their players and I do not detest Wayne Rooney. He is an excellent footballer with not much between his ears but who just lives for football and just happens to be a Manchster United player. It's a bit like Germany, I'm not made keen on that country but it would be a bit extreme to hate all Germans.

I have the same issue with England, bluewolfie. But I manage to ignore totally that a player also plays for Manure. I don't hate or despise any player as an individual. I just hate what Manure the football club stand for: their arrogance, the way they disrespect City and that pompous hypocritical Taggart.

Three Lions? God's Own Team is MCFC. I'm all for national pride, but I still wouldn't give a crap if Rooney was an American, he's nothing to me more than something I'd liken to a bad experience in the loo after a late night drinking binge feed at Taco Bell.

Potato Head has taken on the mantle of our nemesis and he hates us, I can assure you. Which reminds me of the goal celebration dance he did in front of the City fans at Eastlands after snatching the winner last season following his traditional "You fat b*****d" chant. Good job we aren't shrieking Arsenal fans and can take it or he'd have surely been banned.

i hope o'shea gets clattered on sunday.i hate him in a rag shirt and in an irish shirt.

I hate Mr Potato Head whichever colour shirt he wears or which badge is on it and I'd much rather somebody else score the goals and get all the glory for England. Good player yes, total muppet most definitely and its not just the fact that he wears a United shirt, afterall as a loyal fan of my team I could never understand a boyhood Everton fan coming out with the "once a blue always a blue" drivel and yet jump ship at the first opportunity. As a lifelong City fan I would never leave the club if I'd had the opportunity as a player to play for City even if it meant having a better opportunity to win trophies elsewhere - look at our takeover as it is evidence of not knowing what may happen next in the whacky, incredible world of football, the game that all who contribute on here love!

Alright lads? Roo-ney, Rooooney! Ooh aah Cantona. The champions are waiting!

I used to hate them when I was younger, but now they don't bother me. I still think that if we only won two matches all season it would be the rags home and away. They have become so arrogant that they no longer deserve any respect.
