'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Harry Redknapp In Support Of Ade Aid

Following the lead taken by Roy Keane, Gareth Southgate, and Ian Wright, Harry Redknapp has also spoken out against the Emmanuel Adebayor hysteria...

The Spurs gaffer made it clear from the outset that he was unimpressed by Adebayor's recation to Robin van Persie's tackle, but took Arsena'ls travelling supporters to task for their behaviour in Manchester:

'I've got no time for people kicking anybody or being violent on the football pitch and he was wrong to run the length of the field. But it's very difficult when you're getting abuse throughout the game like he was. It's not celebrating a goal that causes riots, it's idiots who want to start riots. If I had been standing there and we had been giving him grief all game and he did that, I would probably say: 'Fair play'

'Arry went on to put the improper conduct charge further into perspective.

'Adebayor went over the top but, at the same time, he was getting a lot of abuse from the fans for the whole afternoon. What did he do really? Run back and go like that, saying he scored. I'm not saying it's right but if you can't go near the away fans when you score because you'll cause a riot... What nutters want to cause riots? Why do people need to shout abuse and cause riots? Why can't they just watch a game of football? I don't understand it. There's no need for it and there must be something wrong with you if you want to do that.'

We've always liked that Harry Redknapp at VMC...

Looking forward to the impending Adewhore ban fellas? How on earth are you going to live without each other you lovers you? If you don't make Champions League football next season, Adewhore, Robinho and Hughes will be gone. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahha!
Gooner_Vin
I doubt that you've got too much to smile about Gunner_Vin as when you win nothing again Wenger, Fabregas and Arse-Shaving will be off like a shot too!

I agree with Harry - fans love to give players abuse and should be able to take it on the chin when players give it back. However, we know that mob mentality rules in large crowd situations and Adebayor endagered himself, the stewards and normal fans by goading the idiots in the crowd. He'll get his ban and he'll deserve it - even if it was bloody funny!
tuscan3000
Does Van Percy not deserve a ban then for going up to the City fans and telling them to ***** off? Which he did before Ade scored too.
MCFC_Goatboy
THeres no witch hunt for the Gooners Goat, but Harry has a point, about the amount of stick given out. As for the RvP gesture, kids stuff.
Buzz Lightyear
MCFC_Goatboy - The Greater Manchester police passed on a complaint to the FA about Van Persie and his celebration and use of foul language and he has only received a written reminder warning him about the FA's code of conduct. It would seem that fans have to respond in the manner of mindless morons in order to make their point and get the FA to take a complaint seriously in order to get a player banned!
Kevinho
Yes Arry, the epitome of righeousness speaks, now lets all listen.
