'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Vital MC MOTM Versus Fulham

The brilliant Andy Hinchcliffe said on Magic 1152 Total Football this week that Nigel De Jong would make a great cage fighter...

De Jong has become an increasingly important member of the City engine room with each game and there are plenty of cloggies out there who will tell you that he is also doing a job for Holland when called upon.

Yet another Man City mercenary puts a shift in for the cause.

He's our Man of The Match in this week's damp squib League Cup clash with Fulham.

De Jong is a huge assett to MCFC and will only get better. Real Madrid wanted to sign him prior to his serious knee injury, so that speaks volumes about how highly rated he is. People say we overpaid for DeJong, but doubt they will be saying that come the end of the season.

He's cemented his spot in the first team and is now a vital cog in the City midfield.

If I had been around during the week to vote then De Jong would have got my vote as he played well and won lots of ball in the midfield area and for a small bloke got up well for quite a few headers. Bellamy and Tevez also both worked really hard. I was a bit disappointed to here a few people around me in the ground and on the way out moaning about Lescott as I think that he did quite well and did nothing to justify these people moaning about him.
