City Break Into The Top Four

Monday 5 October 2009: Aston Villa 1-1 Manchester City.

Premier League Table

1 - Chelsea - Played 8 - Points - 21
2 - Manchester United - Played 8 - Points - 19
3 - Tottenham - Played 8 - Points - 16
4 - Manchester City - Played 7 - Points - 16
5 - Arsenal - Played 7 - Points - 15
6 - Liverpool - Played 8 - Points - 15
7 - Aston Villa - Played 7 - Points - 13

City fans have to wait until Sunday 18 October until we visit Wigan Athletic. Perhaps (and finger crossed), if our international players return fit and healthy we could sneak an away win and nudge up a Premier League place or two.

Who said Manchester City couldn't break into the top 4?

It is of course early-doors yet, but maybe the sight of 4th place (only through math, keeping us from 3rd), with a game in hand above most, and being higher than Arsenal and Liverpool, may give the team that little added boost.

There's a real battling mentality about this side and Craig Bellamy is leading the charge. Can't believe I typed that after the stick I gave him last January...

You're not alone their JB, but we did the same to Stevie Ireland, they must read our posts and think I'll show that lot n Vital Manchester City.

Well we're now in there, all we have to do is stay in there and I think we can. If all continues going to plan then I look forward to seeing similar headlines after the 38th and final match of the season.

Top 4 at the end of the season? Still not sure - but if our away form continues then it's a definate goer.

Maybe we should take each player in turn and give them some stick on the site forums. Next up SWP?
