'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Richard has Dunne it again !

Richard Dunne has once again been voted Player of the Year by the Official Supporters Club, holding off challenges from David James and Andy Cole.

This is the second successive season that Dunnie has scooped the award and just shows what a legend he is becoming.

Although there may be more skilful defenders around, I can't think of a better current premiership central defensive partnershp than Dunnie and Distin and the pair of them have been rock solid at the back for the last couple of seasons.

Young Player of the Year was awarded to Micah Richards - no surprises there. His recent performances have been outstanding and he has responded well to being chucked in at the deep in the first team. I'm sure his ability has not gone un-noticed and with a bit of luck, it won't be long before Mr Scolari gives him an outing in the full international team.If you're good enough your old enough, and Micah surely is !

Most improved player was given to Kelvin Etuhu who must also be on the verge of a first team opportunity. Now we're safe from relegation, it would be a great time to give him a taste of the first team.

a rock solid partnership, apart from the back end of the season, where it kind of fell apart!

Agreed, but Distin has probably got other priorities at the moment, which could explain dip in form. Lets hope Psycho can get his to sign new contract asap

A very well won award. Dunn is a man mountain and IMHO always appears to give everything in every game he plays.

Although his award is fully justified the defence is guilty of a lack of concentration especially when we get our noses in front , demonstrated once again last Saturday, hopefully Pearce will put this right for next season.
