City's finest goalkeeper in decades is justifiably unhappy about FIFA and happy about MCFC in equal measures this week...
The Republic of Ireland's 100 times capped brilliant Number One and City Vice Captain has dipped out on being Vital MC's Man of The Match by a few percent throughout most of this season to date.
He calls it as he sees it:
On Manchester City:
'We showed great team spirit to get something out of that game (at Wigan)...we showed we can dig deep together. It proves we are not just a team of individuals as some people have suggested. There is great team spirit and togetherness in our dressing room as well...
...we had to gel the team together to get results and so far that side of things has gone really well. But we are only at the end of October and the trophies don't get handed out until May. The aim is to be there then.'
On Eire's dodgy World Cup Play Off Draw against France:
'We know it will be tough with the seeding problem. Had they stated the rules from day one then that would have been fair on everyone. We deserved to finish second, Russia and Portugal deserved to finish second, so I do not see how it should be different for them and for us. You would just like to think it would be fair for everyone. Why should these teams get preferential treatment? It should be the same for everyone.'
The alledged 'word on the rue' in France is that UEFA President, City rent-a-quote and Premier League football nemesis Michel Platini might have had a hand in nudging his FIFA counterpart in the direction of seedings once it became clear that France's strolling playboy millionaire side were under real threat of World Cup elimination should they end up playing somewhere like Moscow.
One thing's for sure. Seamus can count on the backing of Planet Blue to help get the Emerald Isle to South Africa.
