Citizens Of Abu Dhabi Latest: Robinho To Be Blue

VMC's friends at Abu Dhabi's The National have been keeping us posted on how City's squad and delegation are doing in the Middle East. There's bad news for 'Fleet Street' hacks...

City's Chief Executive Officer Garry Cook has issued an unequivocal NO to Robson de Souza, better known as Robinho leaving Manchester City.

After weeks and months of London based hacks merde stirring over Robinho being ready to leave Manchester, the record has been set straight.

In an exclusive interview with The National, Cooky made it very clear:

'The manager Mark Hughes informs me he has had no conversations with Robinho about his apparent uneasiness with being in Manchester. We figure it is speculation from the press, or mischief making from those who would like to see things take a different course.'

Of the relentless Barcelona rumours, he said:

'I've had no conversations with Barcelona. Categorically, there is nothing on anybody's agenda, whether it is the chairman's, mine or Mark's. There is no agenda for this...Robinho has been travelling with us for the last couple of days and he's always got a smile on his face. Any transfer talk is pure speculation.'

Finally, City's business supremo had this to say for any hacks or rivals desperate to see City's flagship signing depart:

'All speculation, reports and stories relating to any move for Robinho away are completely and utterly without foundation. No mandated representative has had any conversation with any third party on the subject. Robinho is a contracted Manchester City player - end of story.'

This news wil come as a tremendous boost across Planet Blue.

Robbie is with the squad in Abu Dhabi for Thursday night's showpiece game with the UAE National Team although it's unlikely he'll feature.

However, he'll be popping over to Doha for a check up with Brazil's national team doctor's before rejoining teh City squad's Middle East bonding tour.

More from Abu Dhabi as we get it.

Time will tell on this one, power these days ultimately rest with the players and if he wants to move then he ultimately will whether it be in January, during the summer or whenever.
Kevinho
Robinho has unfinished business in the premiership. Hopefully he'll be our striking diamond again soon!
Sindbad
This has to be the strongest statement so far - but as Kev says, time will tell, but for now at least, we can ignore everything and continue. ---- Mind you, have you seen that place! Even with the money these guys are on, you'd expect them to be happy.
BlueWolfie
I really must confess thatt I'm getting a wee bit bored of this whole saga now.

You and me both FCB - This is a bit like The Phoney War before the real developments or denials take place later on down the line.
Kevinho
City say he's staying, media say he's going. His agents look to be making mischief by feeding the media. Maybe they sniff another big payday for themselves.
