Rigsby Knee Knack Strikes Again

Martin Petrov faces another spell on the sidelines having collected yet another injury on international duty with Bulgaria...

The 30 year old Flying Bulgar has not long returned from a lengthy lay off and had complained to the Bulgarian media of his frustration at being unable to secure a regular starting berth in Mark Hughes City XI.

However, MCFC have just announced that Petrov '..has a slight sprain of the inner ligament in the left knee and could be out for up to two weeks.'

Here's hoping the rest of City's international stars return back to SportCity in good nick for Saturday's mission to Anfield.

Not ideal, but I suppose it could be a lot worse. Looks like Robinho chose the right time to get fit again

Nothing serious, just a 'usual' International injury. Let's hope he gets back on his feet very soon.

Rigsby - tell him to have a good rub down courtesy of Miss Jones!

how can Petrov command a regular place in the side if he keeps getting injured, not for city, but while away for his country. I thought their game had been cancelled.

It couldn't have happened at a better time for me, with Bellamy still fit and Robbie back. It also means more game time for Santa Cruz, Ireland and Johnson off the bench.

Such a shame as he was in good form as well. Now he will have to recover then try and get match fit again.

I saw this story in one outlet 4 or 5 days before it became public knowledge in every other newspaper or website. As it was true I'll make sure to read this source again in the future.
