Do Not Loan-Out Weiss!

There have been some rumours circulating today that both Burnley and Stoke are looking to take City's exciting youngster, Vladimir Weiss on a loan deal. I for one would be extremely annoyed if Hughes decided to loan him out. It would be very naive on his part. Weiss is now past the stage of trying to learn his trade. He is 19 years old and is a regular starter for his country - Slovakia.

We all know that Hughes is very tentative when it comes to substitutions but I think he should be bringing Weiss on with every opportunity he gets. No one will know anything about him and he could come on with 30 minutes left and turn the game by ripping someone apart. He is young and full of confidence and deserves his chance. He terrorized Scunthorpe when he appeared in the Carling Cup.

Also, as much as I love Shauny he has been pretty average over the last couple of games. He has had some small moments of brilliance but they are starting to become less frequent. He is not running at defenders with the same conviction that he used to and he looks tentative on the ball. He was recently criticized in The Mirror for having no passion after putting in a very bad performance for England in Qatar - He is not taking his chances.

I think Hughes should now ease Weiss into the team and then get him starting a few games. This may sound silly but I think he is one of if, not the most exciting young European footballer around. He has waited long enough for a chance and now his time must come.

It wouldn't be my first choice of options to loan him out either but it is pointless him sitting on the bench week in, week out as he needs first team experience at this stage in his career.

I thought SWP was your best player when you played us - Surely Weiss would get more first team play if he was loaned out? And surely at 19 he still has plenty to learn?

Hughes should play Weiss, plain and simple. SWP is a mature player who can play in other positions so I don't accept it is an "either-or" decision. For some reason Hughes is not playing to the strengths of his squad and makes very few substitutions considering the players he has on the bench. Also I am not sure he is giving the City youngsters the playing time he could do.

We have two players that can deliver a decent cross. One of them is Petrov (currently injured), the other is Weiss. I love SWP, but crossing is not his strong suit If we are going to stick with the system of playing one up front, then surely one or both of these players needs to be on the pitch? Weiss has the advantage of being able to play on either wing, so I'm mystified as to why he doesn't get at least the odd 15 minutes here and there. At the moment there are a lot of long balls out of defence, which are easy for the opposition defenders to mop up. Angled crosses from the wing are much harder to deal with, so suspect Adebayor would benefit if Weiss was introduced. Certainly don't want to see him loaned out to the benefit of another PL team though.

At the start of the season I was hoping the next player to come through was weiss. after all, hughes's reason for letting elano go was to develop his talent. every game i've been wanting to see him but have been disappointed every time. I wanted hughes to succeed but it is decisions like these, which show he has a lack of adventure, which are really now starting to annoy me. I agree - if he loans him out, its an acknowledgement that Hughes does not have the confidence to follow through his convictions.

Actually merlin, Weiss is our only natural right winger other than SWP that I can think of. And with SWP not in great form now would seem like a great time to play him but Hughes has prozen to be a very "careful" and unadventurous manager.

Weiss needs gametime. Funnily enough City play lots of games - I see a solution there somewhere...

He deserves a chance but lets face it, Hughes aint going to play him. Loan him out and give him EPL experience.

The lad will become very popular wherever he goes. Playing with fire again Sparky if you sanction this one.

I think it's about time young Weiss was given a starting spot and put SWP on the bench - the lad needs a rest.
