Anyone Heard Of Angel Di Maria?

One or two of the UK's tabloids are reporting Benfica's talented left-winger, Angel Di Maria has become Manchester City's number one target.

Blues are used to speculation and this story is more than likely another one of these fanciful back-page column fillers, nevertheless the £36m rated Argentina superstar might be worth a closer look?

Since Benfica captured his signature in 2007 the 21-year-old has shown the world just what an exciting young player he is. With over 60 first team appearances under his belt Angel Di Maria is worth his weight in gold.

Take a look at the following video clip and tell us what you think?

If he has a pulse and can kick a ball then the press will link us to him, probably for 25% more than he's actually worth. This guy could be fantastic, but I reckon the press are making it up as usual.

he does look pretty gifted but the quoted asking fee........ £36m slightly extreme for an premier league untested player. would be a very costly flopp if things didnt work out. £20m would be max id be happy to pay for him if spurs were interested or if we had endless amount of cash like u
pachna_spurs
we can sell u giovanni dos santos for £30m if u like. he's the old new ronaldinho
pachna_spurs
Is Dos Santos really that bad Pachna or is his heart and work ethic the real problem? Do Spurs fans hold any hopes of him ever making the grade in the Prem?

De Maria is a top talent and has looked quality the 5 times that I have seen him play this season so I'd like City to sign him up asap. He also works a fair bit harder than the likes of Petrov or Robinho, though granted that isn't hard when it comes to tracking back etc .
Kevinho
nice promo video, I'd like to see SWP's, bet he looks like Maradonna, Pele and George Best rolled into one on his!
It's Grim Oop North
Maybe SWP would look that good if we dug out his old clips from his first spell at City, I know that Youtube clips only show the plus points but at least these are from the current season.

hey lando. we have high hopes for giovanni its just tough for the kid to get a game. he's struggled with an ongoing ankle injury. there is no doubt the boy is gifted has world class potential he just needs to get fit and learn the game. apperently he was lazy in training when he 1st arrived and harry only just managed to get him training properly and gave him the knuckle down and work hard and u cud be one of the best in the world lecture and he got injured again. he's just back in full training again this week so watch this space
