The arrogant stance that has had Sir Alex Ferguson crowing for a fortnight about how he'd be taking on MCFC with his kids on Wednesday night will now be almost certainly reversed...
City and united will soon go head to head in the Carling League Cup Semi-Final 1st leg at The City of Manchester Stadium.
Now eliminated from the FA Cup by third tier Leeds in embarrassing circumstances where the rags 'Thanks for 1 million' Eric Cantona banners were suddenly nowhere to be seen when the whistle finally blew in the 96th minute, the clash with City takes on a whole new meaning.
Taggart knows that he dare not risk further upsetting the day trippers with a second abject cup competition surrender to bitter rivals within the same week, despite the fact that Berbaflop, Potato Head, Giggs, Valencia and even Tiny Tim putting in a seasonal appearance could not break down the Leeds defence.
The humiliated rag manager told the pisspoor MUTV:
'We have to get this result out of our system as quickly as possible.
'We have a semi-final on Wednesday and a lot of these players won't be playing. You have to view this performance in the right light.
'We'll make sure we're ready for Wednesday now.
'We had a team in mind, but there will maybe be a few changes for that.'
This is fantastic news for a resurgent City squad and support desperate to get at the rags fuelled by that ludicrous 97th minute 4-3 derby defeat last September. One of only two defeats shipped by The Blues all season.
Come on Taggart and The Glazers, bring on your bank bond bungling rags at full strength. We are seriously up for this one.

Whiskynose bonus: "The referee gives five minutes of injury time and it's an insult to the game. I don't know why they get divested with the authority to keep time when it's hard enough to keep track of the game. It's an insult to the players out there."

Still don't think it will be a full-strength squad, but I reckon it'll be closer to that than his usual under-12's he fields for this competition. Bring it on Taggart, I for one cannot wait.

Fergie was entirely correct 5 minutes of extra time was an insult to the game, as there should have been a maximum of 3 minutes. Oh, and it's most unusual for fergie to be so hypocritical in the press. Isn't it? :¬)

See if his two match suspended ban as well as recent whisky fuelled tirades are looked over. Hopefully a touchline ban where he can attempt to get round the wonderful thing that is technology. As for Sturridge, i knew championship was his standard

worth £7m now that he is scoring in the first team. As for Taggart, he has to play his first team now, the trouble is then he has to play the same team at weekend, right into chelseas hand, he wont want City to win a trophy when there is now every possibility that they wont win anything this season. The glaziers are trying to raise money to bail out the club which is massivley in debt.
