City Set To Sign McDonald Mariga

According to reports in Italy, Manchester City are set to seal the deal for 22 year-old Parma midfielder, McDonald Mariga. The fee being mentioned is around the £10m mark and City have decided to look to the Kenyan as the deal with Real Madrid for Fernando Gago has broken down. Mariga is a box-to-box midfielder with a lot of skill and a great work-ethic. He played a major role in Parma's promotion from Seria B last season making 35 appearences and scoring 3 goals. He's already been watched closely by Inter Milan, AC Milan, Arsenal and Napoli.

He's a massive 6ft 2in and could add some much needed height to our midfield. Also, he plays a very similar role to that of Michael Essien at Chelsea. He's really hot property in Italy and it already looks like City will sign the youngster. A £10m offer has been accepted by Parma officials in a deal that could see Valeri Bojinov stay at the Italian club. Mariga has only managed to play 8 times this season due to injury but if he came to Eastlands then he would be the first Kenyan to play in Premier League.

No idea who he is, or if he is any good. We certainly need a few taller players to win balls. Someone like Fellaini would be brilliant (yet to see Viera in action).

United were rumoured to be looking at him a few months back. Never seen him play but he is said to be a good player.

This kid is class. Seen alot of him in serie-a this year and there were always rumours linking him with the top teams in europe, even when parma were in serie b. Hes tall, strong and has a powerful shot. Im happy were close to signing him.
