Transfer Window Closes At 5pm

Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson is on the verge of joining Manchester City, according to Sky Sports News.

A new and improved offer has been tabled for the 22-year-old; however Boro boss Gordon Strachan is thought to be doing what he can to keep hold of his prized player. With only hours to go until the window closes with Mancini get his way?

Our January transfer speculation thread is in full swing. To keep an eye on developments please visit our 100% City Chat forum.

The English League transfer window closes today at 5pm, while the SPL window shuts at midnight.

If the fee was 7 thats more than Chelsea will have to pay us eventualluy, so Boro have they decided that they cannot afford to lose valuable revenue for a player who wants away?

7m is more than his worth, another special City price. If Boro think they can get more later I dont think we will be back in for him. Much bigger fish will then become available in the summer break.

What do you guys think of signing Johnson? I've heard he is quite good, but no where near being a world beater yet. You're looking likely to take a spot in the top 4, surely with your money you'll be shopping at the top end this summer? As good as he is (and with his potential) I still cant see him making much of a splash in the short or long term. Maybe I havent watched him enough.
